It comes without wrappings and no guarantee.
You can do what you want to.
Choose a course here to walk,
narrow or wide
Eventually though it's a course you can't hide.
We can walk through our days
Not looking around,
not realizing 'till we're put in the ground.
That a whole world exists with people who hurt,
and we are put here to help.
with so much to do, not to sit here inert.
The power is ours to do what we will.
To help change the world
or to just sit down and sit still.
Please choose wisely my friend,
for the changes you see
will be on your conscience
and not resting on me.
Use this time wisely
watch each word that you say
Look around you and appreciate
the gift of today.
Our days her are limited
our hours so few
Make sure that your remembered
for the good that you do.
Life comes as a gift
not wrapped in a bow
It's how you choose to live here and now
and not whom you may know
Make all the days count
and live them with care
Soon your life will be done
and all that will be left
is what you've done for someone.

Post a CommentBeautiful poem. I think we all know we could do more, even though we're busy with the business of living.
Loved it! You brought emotion to the words beautifully!
A very readable poem with an important message for everyone--thanks for sharing your work!
Thank you so much for your kind words, Mary. Maybe someday I will be discovered. Lol. ;}
Have you ever thought about publishing a book of your poems?
This ROCKS!
Very meaningful indeed.
Didi, You take care.
Wonderful and thought provoking. You are a very talented woman. I enjoyed this very much.
I worry I have not done good enough in this life. Poor health and an anxiety disorder has kept me in the house most of my life.
