Roadside: To Arizona

A Travel Poem

Khara E. House
My mind reels with a poem for you
As we roll by mountainsides
Dappled with white and yellow petals
My mind polaroiding you

Snapped in yellow and white
For your wedding day and in my
Mind's eye you are the shade
Of this early evening sun

Burning bronze behind a storm cloud veil
And I miss your warmth
Thinking this chilled air is my body
Missing you

But I am brave
If you are brave
And I count these roadside deer for you
Knowing that sometime when we speak

You will want to know
And I will want to tell you

"Polaroiding" that's a classic. Great poem.

"But I am brave If you are brave And I count these roadside deer for you Knowing that sometime when we speak You will want to know And I will want to tell you"...the words from a lover's true heart...powerful and beautiful.

Great first line, and this poem got better and better. All the way to the point I was abruptly disappointed it ended just as I was starting to really get into it. :)
