Robert Downey Jr., Alyssa Milano Announce Baby News
Babies, babies, babies. That's the big news coming out of Hollywood this week.
Robert Downey Jr. is the latest celeb to announce that he and wife Susan Downey are expecting! Us Magazine reports that though the Sherlock Holmes actor's rep didn't specify an exact due date, little Downey will reportedly arrive February 2012. The new arrival will be the actor's second child. He has a 17-year-old son, Indio, with ex-wife Deborah Falconer.
Downey met wife Susan on the set of the film Gothika in 2003, and he largely credits her with being the wake-up call he needed to pull himself together, reports The Sunday Telegraph. The actor proposed to Susan in 2003. The couple wasmarried in August 2005.
Despite Downey's troubled past, his future only seems to be getting better and better. The actor, who spent a great deal of time in and out of rehab in the '90s, finally got his life back on track in the mid 2000s. After appearing in Gothika, Downey slowly but surely made his way back into Hollywood's good graces, hitting a huge stride when he took on lead roles in Iron Man, Tropic Thunder and Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is set to be released in December, with The Avengers being released in 2012 and Iron Man 3 in 2013.
In other baby news, actress Alyssa Milano and husband David Bugliari welcomed their first child Wednesday, according to People.com. Their son, Milo Thomas, was born at 9:27 a.m., weighed 7 lbs. and was 19 inches long. Milano, 38, married Hollywood agent Bugliari in August 2009. Milo is the first child for them both.
Downey and Milano's baby announcements are the latest in a slew of similar proclamations coming out of Hollywood. Last week, singer Beyonce publicly announced her pregnancy with husband Jay-Z at the MTV Video Music Awards. Bring It On actress Lindsay Sloane revealed that she is expecting a daughter. Actor Jason Bateman and wife Amanda Anka made the same announcement not long after. "American Idol" alum Jason Castro publicized his newest arrival this past Sunday. The little girl, Madeleine Emilia, is the first child for Castro and wife Mandy.
