Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart: Are R-Pattz Inspired Underwear in the Works?

R-Pattz Inspired the New Line of Men's Skivvies at Marks & Spencer, Dubbed the "R-Pants"

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are two of today's hottest stars, so it's no wonder that companies are using them for inspiration for their products. Whether or not the celebrities actually endorse products, simply hailing something as 'inspired by' is enough to get many consumers to throw out their wallets. Most of these products are quite innocent. However, it has come to our attention that an unusual product is in the works, which is inspired by R-Pattz.

Stylelist.com reports that Marks & Spencer, a British clothing chain, is launching Robert Pattinson inspired men's underwear called "R-Pants." These undergarments are meant to suit tighter -fitting clothing. They will sell for 12 GBP, which is a little over $18. Unfortunately, the R-Pants line is available in the UK, not the US - but we're sure that avid R-Pattz fans will still find a way to snatch these up for the men in their lives.

According to the merchandiser for M&S, "Over the last three years we've seen an increase in the popularity of hipsters, and combined with fashion styling, the new Limited range, launching in September 2010 for Autumn/Winter, is designed to appeal to a younger, fashion savvy customer."

Guardian UK reports that the R-Pant line is "thinly-veiled marketing strategy designed to appeal to a younger audience and to sex-up its underwear range." Although this may not exactly be something that a man would just run out to the store and grab (come on - do you know of many men who would be excited about an underwear line inspired by a celebrity?), it's something that many women will buy for their boyfriends, husbands, and friends.

There aren't any plans for Robert Pattinson to endorse the mens skivvies, and there's no word on what Kristen Stewart, R-Pattz's on-screen love and off-screen rumored girlfriend (or ex-girlfriend, depending on the day) feels about the underwear.

Perhaps the store should come up with a whole line, with women's lingerie inspired by Twilight actresses such as Kristen Stewart and Ashley Greene...as well as actors including Taylor Lautner? This would likely appeal to a wide variety of customers, plus gain Marks & Spencer a wide variety of orders from the United States as well.
