Robert Pattinson Officially Ends Relationship with Kristen Stewart [Photos]

Are they or aren't they a couple 'Twilight: Saga' couple have officially called it quits. Rumors of an ending for this highly speculated off set romance between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart hit the media several weeks ago. Recently reports confirmed that the 'Eclipse' costars have definitely split for good. Prior to the official split, Pattinson was quoted saying that he would never settle down with Stewart as he did not want to miss the opportunity to date other people. The 24-year old British heartthrob was acting extremely happy on the set of his latest film projects after the split. A close source to the actor described the break up "like a great load's been lifted off his shoulders!"

Pattinson then revealed that Stewart's outspoken nature was a bit much for the 'Twilight' star and made him uncomfortable. Pattinson took the advise of his 'Water for Elephants' costar Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon, according to a source. Witherspoon advised him to have "fun while he's young, and enjoy being a carefree bachelor while he can." Thereafter, Pattinson finally told Stewart that it was over for good. "It wasn't easy, but he's in a much better place now that he's out of his on-again-off-again emotional entanglement," said a close pal.

Prior to Pattinson ending the union for good, the unconfirmed relationship had cooled off several months before. However, the attractive pair appeared to be back into the relationship at the 'Twilight:Eclipse' premiere on June 30th. If reports are anything to go by, Stewart may be letting onto the media that pair are together in hopes that things would workout. According to a source, the British hunk "doesn't want to fall back into old habits. He's moving on!"

A 'Twilight' producer reportedly hinted about the relationship at the time of the 'Twilight: Eclipse' premiere. However, since the official split Twilight producers were made aware that Pattinson and Stewart have in fact called it quits. Separate work commitments will place the Twilight' stars in different countries for the next three months. Both Pattinson and Stewart are due on set for the next installment of the mega hit 'Twilight: Saga' franchise in November.
