Game Background

During the second millennium, Morgox the Unborn has taken over all of civilization in Zeta Sector. The rebellious Delos IV, meeting secretly in the shadows of darkness, have planned to fight back. While all of this is going on, in a different galaxy light-years away from the battle between Morgox the Unborn and the rebel army, Robot wants a puppy.

Gameplay

The objective of Robot Wants Puppy is to help Robot obtain the puppy. Following the previous installment of this series, Robot now has a kitty that helps Robot obtain the puppy.

The controls involve using the arrow keys to maneuver Robot around the various obstacles scattered throughout the game. Robot can also jump. To make Robot jump, press the Up key. You can also use the Z or Y buttons on your keyboard to make Robot jump.

Throughout the game, you will also encounter a number of powerups to help you on your glorious mission. These items include:

-Transmatter Computron, which both saves your current progress so that you can return later and acts as the starting point after you get into an accident with Robot
-Razor Claw, which is used to increase the lethality of your faithful kitty
-Kitty Abilities, which, when collected, give your kitty new powers that it can use to help you even more than it already does
-Double Jump, which helps Robot out in its jumping abilities
-Access Card, nine of which are needed to access full security credentials

Along with powerups, you will encounter a number of enemies that may or may not fire harmful bullets. Hitting enemies or their bullets, or any other fatal obstacle, for that matter, will result in a Robot death. Though there are an unlimited amount of lives, dying will add ten seconds to the background timer. It will also make you restart from the last saved spot, thus slowing you down even further. Lesson: don't die.

Game Review

Robot Wants Kitty, the first in this Robot Wants Blank series, offered a good amount of entertainment. Robot Wants Puppy builds on the previous game by changing the desired object. The gameplay, however, is pretty much the same. The major differences include the powerups and the assistance of the kitty from the previous game. These additional elements help to diversify this game and distinguish it from its predecessor.

Overall, Robot Wants Puppy scores a 7/10. Though it is different from its predecessor, it does not offer that much more in terms of entertainment. However, with that said, it is still a solid game. Future additions to this series can further diversity the gameplay.
