Robyn and Kelis Bring the Dance Party with the "All Hearts" Tour

Ana Montano
If you're looking for a party this summer, look no further, because this is the show for you. From beginning to end, the show kept the crowd moving.

The Far*East Movement kicked off the night and set the tone for what was to come. Their pumping beats kept the crowd jumping for the duration of their set. The same couldn't be said for Dan Black, who followed them. There was a lot of chatter in the venue while he was performing. I have to hand it to him though, he looked like he was having fun up there.. but it was definitely more fun for him than the audience.

After a good long wait, Kelis finally took the stage. After making everyone in the audience pledge allegiance to the dancefloor, she played for a full hour without stopping. There was none of the banter that performers love to bore audiences with. She just went from song to song and the music never stopped. And the crowd never stopped dancing. The set included a host of her hits like "Milkshake" and "Acapella" as well as great little medleys in between songs, during which she covered Madonna, the Eurythmics and took the crowd all the way back to 1999 with the chorus of ODB's "Got Your Money."

To round off the night, Robyn came out flanked by two drummers and two keyboardists. She ran around the stage like a human Red Bull can and though she was having fun, her songs' emotional undertones were certainly felt. Because Fembots most certainly have feelings too. Despite the fact that she also didn't really verbally interact with the crowd, it really felt that she connected with the audience. Almost as if she was having a dance-off with the crowd, she would alternate between breaking it down and being thoroughly amused by how much of a fool the concertgoers were making of themselves. Her set included a good mix of new music, like her recent hit "Dancing on My Own" as well as some old tracks, like "Be Mine!" She even performed a grown up version of "Show Me Love," which had everyone singing along.

My only gripe with her set was that for a lot of it, her voice was sometimes hard to hear over the music, which has little to do with the power of her voice and everything to do with improper soundchecking. But she was so energetic and animated, throwing herself on and around the stage all night, that her mic could have been completely turned off and it would have been just as good. She stopped only to enjoy a banana and mime the lyrics of "Don't F**ing Tell Me What To Do." Other pop stars have dancers and flashing lights - Robyn eats a banana - and the crowd goes wild just the same.

It was a night full of awesome beats and non-stop dancing. It's definitely a show that will leave you completely soaked in sweat and begging for more.
