RoC Skincare - Keeping Their Promises

Review of RoC's Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Serum and Night Cream

RoC's latest campaign: Give us 12 weeks. Get back 10 years.

Well, why not? RoC, a Johnson & Johnson company, is backed by a highly advanced research lab and has made high quality products for over 40 years. I expected the products to be good. But really, 10 years off my face?

I did not expect RoC to blow the rest of my skin care products out of the water in one week. I have products in my beauty bag that cost hundreds of dollars (shhh! Don't tell my husband!) I scrimped and saved until I got enough points on my American Express to buy La Prairie eye cream from Saks Fifth Avenue at $250! Yet I have now seen superior results from two mass market treatments that average $19.99 each!

I've been in the skin care business for over 15 (ouch!) years and it takes a lot to impress me. Add to that the fact that I can barely focus first thing in the morning, so any changes in my skin would have to be near miraculous for me to see them. And yet my 3rd morning after using the Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Serum and Night Cream, I was completely blown away.

My skin was softer almost instantly. Brighter the next morning. Visibly firmed by the 3rd morning. After a couple of weeks, my sun spots are now going away. Is it any surprise that (RoC claims) this is the number one selling wrinkle cream in France? Or, that Allure chose Deep Wrinkle Night Cream as the Best Anti-Aging Treatment in 2004? I only wish I had tried this sooner!

So how does it do it? RoC combined two of the most effective anti-aging, anti-wrinkle products, Retinol and AHA's with an ingredient you may have heard loads about - but won't see heavily advertised on RoC's campaigns, Dimethyl MEA - better known to Dr. Perricone fans as (in a related form) DMAE. This is really no surprise when you learn that Dr. Perricone's products were vigorously tested at Johnson & Johnson's clinical labs. Add minerals like copper, magnesium and zinc to the mix and you've got one (well actually an entire line) of powerful wrinkle-fighting treatments.

Give this line a try. You'll be glad you did. Most places you can buy RoC products, like Ulta, Walgreens, and CVS stores will take the product back if you retain your receipt, so you have nothing to lose. Well, nothing but wrinkles!

  • Use sunscreen religiously. AHA's and Retinol products cause photosensitivity.
  • Ease into the routine by alternating every other evening with a basic moisturizer.
  • Don't over use the treatments. More is definitely not better.
