It is immovable,
It is strong, stoic, fearless.
A rock is hard,
It is unbreakable,
It is tough, constant, unwavering.
A rock can be rough or smooth,
Can be light or dark,
Can be big or small.
A rock is there to lean on,
To take shelter under,
To gain strength from.
A rock is all of this and more,
Until it is gone.
What then?
My rock is gone,
I am left exposed.
I have no shelter,
No solid base.
I have no strength,
No support at all.
My rock is gone,
I fear it will never return,
I must learn a new way.
My rock is me now,
I can be strong, though, fearless.
I am my rock now,
From myself I gain strength.
