Rock Band Unplugged - PSP Game Review

Rock Band Unplugged. is a really fun game. It is the first rock band game to be available for the PSP, and let me tell you now, it is awesome! If you haven't yet heard of the Rock band franchise, you don't know that it is a game which you play with instruments. On the PSP this doesn't work. A PSP has to be portable. those large chunky instruments are not very portable. In this case Rock Band Unplugged should do the job.

Rock band unplugged is played with only the Playstation Portable. I know this seems odd, considering the whole attraction of Rock band was the ability to play instruments and also playa video game, but don't worry, you won't be disappointed. In Rock Band Unplugged, you play all 4 instruments at once. Four tracks will run down the screen. What you have to dos navigate these tracks with the L and R buttons, while playing the notes that appear. Hit them with the Left, Up, Triangle, and Circle buttons.

There are a lot of songs in Rock Band Unplugged. There are ore than 40 songs to choose from, which is very impressive for a handheld gaming system. You have the ability to play all the tracks for a song or to play only the ones you want to, such as guitar or drums or singer.

You can also go online and buy tracks in the PlayStation Network store. These tracks are downloaded to your PSP, and when you boot up Rock band Unplugged, they will be in your library of playable songs.

Songs cost about 1.99 dollars each, which seems like a fair price, considering you get to play the songs, and listen to them at the same time. On the network store, you can also purchase mixes (such as a rock mix or a pop mix) these mixes contain 10 songs that are all the same genre of music. If you like Rock, like me, make sure to purchase the Rock Mix. Also, a mix is 15 dollars. If you add up the costs of all the songs on the mix, that would be twenty dollars. Before you purchase any songs, make sure to check that they are not on a mix.

I really like this game. It is simple and simplistic. The songs don't cost very much, and the game doesn't either. You can pick this baby up for about $20 on EBay, or about $30 MSRP. I would recommend a large memory stick. Songs take up about 10 MGBS of your space. A 32 MGB card isn't going to cut it for this one.
