Rock Bottom

"Finally, the Jester Smiles,"

bw Frampton
The wheel is turning again...

I am just a man. I cannot change what is going to happen. I can only hang onto that wheel and look at the many scenes that are being played out before my eyes.

I love living...Life is just one adventure after another - and, I'll be the first to admit that there seem to be many more pitfalls than paved highways but, in the end, I will be able to take my last breath and say, "Damn...I have lived life."

Friends come and friends go. This is a sad truth.

Even more sad is the fact that loved ones tend to do the same at one time or another.

It all comes down to choices...

Be weak.

Or find strength.

I have hit rock bottom mentally, emotionally and spiritually so many times in my thirty-four years. Recently, I hit the rocks harder than I have ever slammed against them before.

But I did not die.

And the strange thing - the most ironic thing of all about hitting rock bottom - is that there is only one direction to go.

Up.

Wiser.

Stronger.

With a bit more attitude than before.

With a stronger desire and a will forged from iron that this world has never seen.

I stand taller.

I am hungry.

I will take this life back with a vengeance

and blood shall flow.

It is my turn to watch them fall...

And it will happen.

Rock bottom.

All shall be right with the world.

I too have been rock bottom -- and climbed painfully up, bloody and bruised, but still climbing. Those others, though? I don't wish them the fall. And I hope I will be able to be a big enough person to reach a hand down to help them up, even if part of me says they got what they deserved... Really good work!

This is wonderful. Hitting bottom helps us to appreciate the things we take for granted. Great work.
