Rock for Your Buck: Review of Yamaha RGX320FZ Electric Guitar

Breezer
I have owned lots of different guitars and I am normally one to stick with what i like (Fender, Les Paul). But i went off my normal path and recently picked up a Yamaha RGX320FZ for about 300 bucks. This Yamaha RGX320FZ has everything a rock or metal guitar player is looking for.

The Yamaha RGX320FZ features a mahogany carved top body with a mahogany neck and a bound rosewood 22 fret fingerboard, 2 Yamaha humbuckers, the original Yamaha AES bridge, a sleek headstock design and is coverd by the Yamaha Limited Lifetime warranty. It comes in Black or Pewter color and some have custom inlays at the 12th fret.

This guitar also features a set neck. A "set neck" means that the neck is glued into place. I have never owned a set neck guitar before until this one. I have heard people say that set neck guitars do not have the sustain that bolt on neck guitars do. Thats not the case with the Yamaha RGX320FZ. It has good sustain and tone. Of any guitar i have owned this guitar cranks out the best harmonics by far.

The Yamaha RGX320FZ I have is Black and does not have the custom inlay that is available on some models. The first time i picked it up i was impressed with the finish on the body. It is a very sharp looking guitar. It plays like a dream as well. The neck feels good in the hand, not too thick and not too thin. The only bad thing about this guitar is the clean tone it produces. It is good enough to get you by in a live setting but for professional recording it might be replaced. I play more rock and metal music than anything and this guitar is the perfect axe for a beginner or for a seasoned metal head.
