Rock Cinco De Mayo in Style with Adidas Originals

M. Maiero
Adidas has unleashed a whole line of Mexico-specific apparel. This is big news for fans of both Adidas and Mexico. And, come Cinco de Mayo, everybody's a fan of Mexico (and its beer); so why not be a fan of Adidas Originals for a day?

Cinco de Mayo is all about spirit and, as usual, Adidas delivers in the spirit department. So maybe there's no pinatas or maracas printed on the back of the Adidas Originals track jackets, t-shirts, and shoes, but Adidas still displays the colors of Mexico in a tasteful manner-- once again, perfect for Cinco de Mayo. How cool would it be to be rocking the Mexican flag on a track jacket at a Cinco de Mayo party this year, for real? You could be the Cinco de Mayo hit of the party.

Adidas Originals produced a real beauty with the 'Mexico II' track jacket. On this particular jacket, the red, white, and green colors of the flag of Mexico comprise the jacket itself. There's no better way to show spirit towards the Mexican holiday of Cinco de Mayo than enveloping yourself in the Mexican flag and, aside from literally enveloping yourself in the Mexican flag, this is obviously the most stylish means of doing so. And for a mere $80, that's not too bad-- keep in mind that Adidas Originals are instant classics, so that's Cinco de Mayo style for life!

Other highlights of the Adidas Originals Mexico line include two t-shirts, both of which display a large Mexico logo-- original artwork from the Adidas Originals designers. The first is the 'Mexico II' t-shirt, which is a baseball style t-shirt (except without the 3/4 length sleeves) that features the aforementioned logo on the back. Red, white, and green, amigos! And another t-shirt, speaking of Cinco de Mayo flavor, is the 'Cinco de Mayo' t-shirt, which is a ringer t-shirt with the Mexico logo on the front. Both of these shirts go for around ~$30, so that might be a little cheaper in terms of Cinco de Mayo spirit.

As for the rest of the collection, the flavor of Cinco de Mayo is still there but in smaller doses. There's a 'Cinco de Mayo' track jacket, a 'Cinco de Mayo' soccer jersey, and even a Mexican colorway in the classic Adidas Originals running shoe, the 'Country attitude.' These pieces, in my opinion, just simply do not burst with the Mexican flavor of the other pieces. But if you want a low-key approach to this year's Cinco de Mayo celebration, they're still worth checking out.

Once again, Adidas delivers with a number of classic pieces-- this time with a Mexican flavor in time for the holiday of holidays, Cinco de Mayo!
