Rock the Keys is easily located on Foothill Blvd. in Rancho Cucamonga. If you are at all familiar with the area it would be easy to find. Doors opened at 6pm with a modest cover charge of $5. I did not realize at the time but, reservations do seem needed as I watched the bar area quickly fill to capacity with people. The Piano Show started at about 8pm and at this point the place came alive.
The Piano Show on the night I went was put on by a trio consisting of two men and one woman. I am aware that I should have gotten their names for this article but, my intent wasn't to write an article until after my experience went so well. The trio that performed was actually from Florida and Rock the Keys happened to be one of their stops.
I have never seen such enthusiasm drawn out of a crowd of people as I did at Rock the Keys. Almost instantaneously Rock the Keys came to life with sing alongs and pulling people up onto stage for various forms of embarrassment. This trio surprised everyone in the room with the wide range of requests they were capable of filling. The three of them were willing to try their hand at anything, which I found quite impressive.
Throughout the night the trio exchanged places between piano and drums. It was truly impressive to see all three of them were capable on both instruments. Especially, the woman with the trio, it is a rare occasion to see a woman play the drums, and do it well for that matter.
There was truly never a dull moment all night. The trio was even kind enough, with a small tip of course, to pull up my friend on stage for her birthday and embarrass her for a few minutes with a happy birthday song.
The styles of these three are not for frigid or easily embarrassed. Some of the songs and sing alongs they perform are somewhat crass but, once the crowd had a few drinks in them we all enjoyed it thoroughly.
There is an adjoining Nightclub that opens up later in the night. Your initial cover for the Piano Show will also get you into the night club. I have to admit though, I was so entertained by the Piano Show that I never made it into the Nightclub area.
The only real downfall that I ran into during my visit was no pitchers on the weekends. People there were drinking quite a few beers which were a little bit steep on the price so a pitcher of beer would have been greatly appreciated. Also, there is no ATM inside Rock the Keys. So, if you are planning on going and want to make sure that you tip your entertainment well bring cash. Trust me their talent is worth the tips.
I would recommend Rock the Keys to anyone that I know as a good night out. Whether you are looking for a good time with the girls or a night out with the hubby, you will not be disappointed. It's a BIG two thumbs up from me and the whole crowd we went with.

Post a CommentI have lived here all my life and have been to every club that location become (it started as "Club 66") Anyway I have nit checked it out snce it became "Rock the Keys" I live like 2 blocks away and been menaing to go. After reading your article i def want to try it out. Though after reading your comments. i kinda dont want too, but will def bring cash lol thanks!!
I guess I am a little bit old fashioned, whenever I go out to a bar I only use cash. It tends to help me keep what I spend in check and I don't worry about credit card problems.
DO NOT GO TO ROCK THE KEYS. We had a group go for a birthday with 3 separate bills. We ALL got over charged. My friends bill came out to $250! No way in the world did 4 people on her bill spend that much money. Another friend used his card for drinks that night, but ended up paying cash. They still charged his card. Then my husband and I, our bill came out to $40. I told him to tip the girl $5 cause i was upset with my friend being overcharged. She ended up charging our bill $50 plus an additional separate charge of $20. I'm currently going to call someone to have them audit their books because I've heard of this before. I was hesitant to go because I heard others complain about this. Now I know for sure. Unfortunately it's terrible they do this because it really is a fun place to go, but not if your using your credit card.
Ive been to this place twice both times sucked. i went the second time becuse my girl friends sister wanted to celebrate her birth day there. They also forget to tell you that when you use your debit card they chrg a pre authoriztion fee to make sure you have money to pay for your bill. in my case it was $77.00 and it stays on your account for about a week so if your planning to use that money your screwed for a bout a week.. rock the key sucks dont bothernot worth it
