Rock of Love Season 1

Bret Michaels, the lead singer of the rock group Poison, indulged VH1 by allowing them to set him up with a reality show, called Rock Of Love. This is a take on other VH1 reality shows, such as Flavor Of Love and I Love New York. Women were selected to live in Bret Michaels' house and complete challenges to stay in the game. Even if you watched the entire season, I urge you to read on and give me your take on the show, or on my predictions to follow.

There were many characters on the show, some were beautiful but uneducated, some were alcoholics, some were manipulative and a small minority were real. Bret began to eliminate the girls who did not measure up mentally or who were not looking for love. Those who won challenges won alone time with Bret Michaels. Challenges included mud football, phone sex, being on tour, being backstage, and others, all wild and crazy. Those who could not win a challenge got to know Bret in other ways.

The main manipulator, and the main one to lose challenges, was Lacey. On screen she seemed vindictive, evil and a little crazy, but no matter what she was Manipulator #1. It was obvious that she was playing a role to get closer to Bret, she had to find a strategy since she lost the challenges. I did not like Lacey throughout the show, I thought her personality was rather lacking and somewhat unbalanced. However, when I saw her perform on the reunion show, I have to admit that her group sounded better than I had anticipated.

Lacey made it all the way to the final three. There were two others in that group, Jes and Heather. Heather was another character in the house. One of her escapades included getting a tattoo of the word BRET on the back of her neck! It was her first tattoo! And he didn't even pick her!

In the end he picked Jes, the more sensible, less dramatic girl with the pink hair. It was no surprise to me that he picked Jes. She did not cause problems, and she seemed sincere in wanting to know Bret. When they met again at the reunion, she told him he should have picked Heather! He was shocked about that, but also confessed that he was afraid to be with Heather because she was really in love with him! Well, Bret, I thought that you were doing the show to find love, and you turned the love down? Maybe there will be a Rock Of Love 2!

My prediction is that Heather will soon have her own reality show, following in the footsteps of the other Loser, Miss New York.
