Ozzy Osbourne- "The Osbournes," 2002. The Prince of Darkness gave us a peek into his domestic life with this MTV reality series, the first of its kind. The cameras followed heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne, his wife Sharon, and kids Jack and Kelly as they did run of the mill things like throw hams at their neighbors. Lots of censor bleeps on this series, but it opened the door for an onslaught of celeb-reality TV shows.
Sebastian Bach- "Celebrity Fit Club," 2010. Thank God he's a country boy? The Skid Row lead singer kept to his rock star roots when he was on VH1's "Supergroup" back in 2006, but he switched gears in 2008 and was crowned the Season 2 winner of the CMT reality comp, "Gone Country." Two years later he was taking boot camp orders from Harvey Walden and sweating it out on "Celebrity Fit Club." Best Bach quote from that show: "Nobody likes a fat rock star."
Meatloaf- "Celebrity Apprentice," 2011. From "Paradise By the Dashboard Light" to Donald Trump's boardroom, an enraged Meatloaf had an epic meltdown -- over art supplies, of all things-- during Season 11 of "Celebrity Apprentice." This Meat was definitely charbroiled.
Jani Lane- "Celebrity Fit Club," 2005. Did the Warrant frontman eat too much cherry pie? How else to explain his 2005 appearance on VH1's "Celebrity Fit Club"?
Tommy Lee- "Tommy Lee Goes to College," 2005. He was the cool judge on the rock singing competition "Rock Star: Supernova," but the Motley Crue drummer may have overstepped his reality TV bounds when he starred in the sophomoric "Tommy Lee Goes to College." And don't you have to have a high school diploma first?
Dave Navarro- "Til Death Do Us Part," 2004. The guitar great (Jane's Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers) may have cursed his marriage to actress Carmen Electra when the newlywed couple appeared on MTV's "Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen & Dave." While it was fun to watch a rock star wedding in the works, the marriage-- like other MTV newlywed reality show marriages (Nick and Jessica, anyone?)-- fizzled.
Vince Neil- "Skating With the Stars," 2010. He may have been surreal on VH1's "The Surreal Life" back in 2004, but the Motley Crue lead singer was downright unreal when he donned skates for ABC's "Skating With the Stars." Viewers sent the singer home sweet home in Week 2 of the competition. Not that anybody stood a chance against that chick from "All My Children" anyway.
Jane Wiedlin- "The Surreal Life," 2005. The Go Go's guitarist shacked up with celeb roomies like Verne Troyer and Chris Knight for this VH1 series which, a few spinoffs later, gave us that "Flavor of Love" series. No wonder it was canceled. But we did get to appreciate Wiedlin's love for animals when she had a cow over the prospect of branding a cow during one of the show's challenges.
Bret Michaels- "Rock of Love," 2007-2009. The Poison lead singer has been crowned a winner on "Celebrity Apprentice," but that doesn't mean we forget the raunchy "Rock of Love" in which he tried--three times-- to find love with various strippers and tattooed tough girls. Turns out this rocker already had love waiting for him at home. Longtime love Kristi Gibson -- the mama of Michaels' two children-- joined him for a 2010 reality series, "Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It," in which the couple showcased their unconventional domestic bliss.
Ted Nugent- "Runnin' Wild...With Ted Nugent." It's "Survivor"--Uncle Ted style. On this upcoming CMT reality series the Amboy Dukes guitarist and "Stranglehold" soloist is slated to hunt down contestants as they try to use their survival skills to stay ahead of him. Kind of like the "Cat Scratch Fever" chasing the mouse.
