With her self-titled debut album this past February, Kim Kline is on the brink of becoming the next great rock star. The album features lyrics and melodies reflecting her inspirations and influences, including Stevie Nicks, Pat Benetar, Led Zeppelin, Tina Turner and even Jimi Hendrix. Unlike many recording artists out there today, Kline works with an awesome band, and gives them time to shine throughout the songs. In the song Gotta Let It Go, Trevor Stafford realy goes to town on the drum beats. Listen for the fantastic bass playing by Shane Hayes in Inside. However, the best track on the entire album is Remember Myself, which showcases the amazing guitar talent of Wes Whitlach.
The most awe-inspiring aspect of Kim Kline's debut album isn't the obvious passion that went into putting the album together, nor is it the raw, remarkable voice of this Texas native. It is the fact that Kline had a hand in writing every single one of the songs that she recorded for this CD. She is singing her own words, giving them even more meaning than when an artist sings a song that someone else wrote. Let's face it:?This rocker chick sure has talent. And, it is just dripping from this CD.
While Kline has not yet been picked up by a major label, she is really making a splash in the independent music genre. Her own music company, aptly named Kim Kline Music, created this album, with Kline herself at the helm. With the help of award-winning music professionals including Evan Rodaniche (Cage 9, The Willowz, Big City Rock), Mike Sarkisyan (Grammy-nominated guitarist and producer), Tommy Decker (Grammy-nominated drummer and producer), PJ Smith (Live, Something Corporate), Robb Torres (J.D. Natasha, The Rising, Volumen Cero), Eddie Galan and Sean Alexander (LeAnn Rimes, Steven Tyler, Disney's High School Musical), renowned vocal technique and performance coach Steven Memel, who has trained such artists as Adam Levine and members of Maroon 5, Taryn Manning of Boomkat, Brittany Murphy and Big City Rock. It wouldn't be surprising if a major label, such as Warner Records or Universal, snatched Kline up as soon as they hear their first album. Whether or not Kline will give up her control and let go of her independent feel remains to be seen.
Kim Kline is called "the next diva of rock," and with good reason. Listeners can relate to her lyrics, regardless of the music genre they usually listen to. Girls will like her because, like her music, she is so honest and easy-going, and her words describe feelings that virtually every girl has had or will eventualy encounter. Guys will like her because her voice is downright sexy, the music isn't "fluffy" or "pop-y" like so many other female recording artists (many of which whom claim to be rockers), and because, quite frankly, Kim Kline is smokin' hot. And I'm not just talking about her music.
Right now, you can only purchase Kim Kline's debut album online. You can download it on virtually any site, such as iTunes, for your iPod. The nominal fee for being able to play any of her songs over and over is absolutely worth it. If you want the CD, visit her website at www.kimklinemusic.com or check her out on her MySpace page, located at www.myspace.com/kimkline.
Kim Kline is a down-to-Earth person following her dreams. She knows the gifts that she has, and is thrilled to be able to share it with the masses. She admits that she wears her heart on her sleeve, and listeners know that she is telling the truth just by hearing her lyrics.
If you are looking for something new to play on your iPod, or even want a new soundtrack for your summer, Kim Kline is it.
