Setup of the mouse was extremely easy. I am using the Rocketfish with the Toshiba Portege with a Bluetooth transmitter. I turned the mouse on after inserting the batteries (the panel is easily removed and replaced). I then enable the Bluetooth on my laptop and hit the connect button on the Rocketfish. After about ten seconds of searching the laptop detected the Rocketfish and enabled it as a pointing device. Setup was that simple.
I have been using the Rocketfish since installation as my preferred pointing device (I do not like track pads). It is a two button mouse with a scroll wheel. The mouse does not have two separate buttons but is rather a single pad with an incision in the centre that responds to left and right clicks. The scroll wheel can be depressed so that you can scroll through pages by moving the mouse up or down. You can escape from that functionality by simply left or right clicking and the mouse returns to its normal two button and scroll wheel functionality.
Movement of the cursor is precise and responsive. Clicking on either button of the mouse produces a slightly audible click and you can feel the click through as you press down on the mouse button. The scroll wheel responds nicely and clicks easily as you turn the wheel.
As is obvious from the Rocketfish picture the mouse is white and therefore tends to gather dirt, however, the surface is very smooth and any dirt is easily wiped off.
There is a slight lag on startup until the Bluetooth connection is detected but that is no more than two or three seconds. I normally use the mouse with a mouse pad but there has been no problem in using it with regular flat surfaces. The advertised battery usage is three months if you leave the mouse on all of the time. Battery life will be maximized by turning it off if you are not going to be using it for prolonged periods.
I have small hands and find this Mouse very comfortable to use. I highly recommend this product. It is easy to install and easy to use.
