Rockies Win, DNC Lose

Here it is Monday evening; I am looking to spend some prime time being a couch potato. I can watch the Colorado Rockies play the San Francisco Giants or I can watch the first night of the Democratic National Convention in my home town of Denver Colorado. The DNC and Denver has spent millions to bring this momentous event to the viewers of the world. On the other hand you can watch the Colorado Rockies most any time they are playing whether at home or away. I gave careful consideration to all the facts and pondered on what to do. Finally I cast my vote to the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies win over the DNC. It wasn't even a close race. In fact it was a landslide for the Rockies.

I enjoy watching the Rockies. Jeff Frances pitched and he always looks so much in control. Yorvit Torrealba hit a two run home run to give the Rockies the lead. Matt Holliday is always fun to watch. You never know when he is going to explode and make a spectacular play or hit a homer. Troy Tulowitzki, Garret Atkins, Brad Hawpes, Willie Tavares and others compliment the Rockies and make for an enjoyable evening. I am not a baseball junkie. I just enjoy watching the Rockies play. It is a good team. In my opinion they are not a World Series team though.

Why would anyone want to watch three hours of attacks against the opposition? There is still sixty days of campaigning and the attacks are starting already. After a while my mind just shuts out all these political ads and my selective senses do not even pay any attention to them. I had no desire to hear Michelle Obama speak. All of these politicians' stories are similar. They started with little or nothing worked hard and realized the dream of America. Now they want to help all Americans experience this dream. How many times in the last sixty five years have I heard this?

The Rockies play again tonight and the DNC is on also. Let the competition begin. Who will win my vote tonight? My lips are sealed with no hints of who I will vote for tonight. Am I getting into this campaigning lingo?

By the way, the Rockies beat the Giants last night, 4 to 2. The Rockies are now seven games behind the Diamondbacks.
