Rocking Horse Depot Recalls Rocking Horses Due to Strangulation Hazard

Pat Anthony
Rocking Horse Depot has recalled several of their rocking horse toys because of the possibility of strangulation in young children. The recall was announced with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, sometimes referred as the CPSC.

The Rocking Horse Depot was made aware of the possibility of strangulation following a consumer complaint. The complaint was from the parents of a child that escaped strangulation when her parents removed the reins of the rocking horse from the girl's neck.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission report states that the reins on the rocking horses are 'long enough to form a loop' and this poses a hazard. For complete details view the report here.

With about 1,200 of the rocking horses being sold by Rocking Horse Depot of Buckeye, Arizona, all are part of the recall. Rocking Horse Depot suggests anyone with the rocking horsesas pictured on the website listed below, cut the reins on the rocking horse to avoid the hazard explained.

All of the recalled rocking horses are on a hardwood frame, and described as having a leather emblem on the right side of the saddle. The emblem is shown in a photo on the website listed below.

Those with questions about the recalled rocking horses may reach someone at Rocking Horse Depot Mondays through Fridays from 9 AM until 5 PM by calling this number collect: 623-302-6313. To view the Rocking Horse Depot website, please use the link below this article.

The Rocking Horse Depot imported the rocking horses that are now recalled from Poland. When a product is recalled it does not always mean the item will be exchanged. Consumers do not have to stop using the rocking horses or exchange them if they prefer to cut the reins on these toy rocking horses making them safer to use.
