Rocky's Italian Grill in Jeffersonville, Indiana: Restaurant Review
A little bit of history: Rocky's Italian Grill has great Italian food for a tasteful price. Thirty years ago John Fondrisi opened up the first Rocky's on Market Street in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Rocky's was formally known as Rocky's Sub Pub. Currently, Rocky's is known as Rocky's Italian Grill. It has also moved to 715 W. Riverside Drive in Jeffersonville, Indiana--on the Ohio river.
My Experience: The Service at Rocky's Italian Grill is impeccable. The staff knew what they were doing. I went with a party of about 20 people. They were very capable of handling such a large party. They made every member of the party feel welcomed.
The food is lovely. The menu has eleven categories. They are as follows: pasta, seafood, Rocky's Specialties, appetizers, soups & salads, calzones, subs & sandwiches, Pizza Pies, Specialty Pizzas, sides, and desserts & cappuccinos. I ordered from the calzones category, as well as, the soups and salads category.
The Calzones are stuffed with toppings of choice. I ordered the Pepperoni Calzone. The Pepperoni Calzone is stuffed with pepperoni, ricotta cheese, romano cheese, provolone cheese and mozzarella cheese. Rocky's Italian Grill Calzones are enormous. They are also enormous in taste.
The Salad that I ordered was the Dominic Salad. The Dominic Salad is made with mixed greens and fresh baby breadsticks. Then is complimented with mozzarella cheese, marinated tomatoes, mushrooms, and green and black olives. There are also green peppers. All of that is tossed in vinaigrette dressing, glazed onions, and toasted pepperoni. The Dominic Salad is mouth watering good. It is big enough to be used as an entrée.
The Cost of the Calzones are between $7.99 and $9.79. The Pepperoni Calzone (what I had) cost $8.99. The Soups & Salads cost between $3.99 and $11.49. The Italian Wedding Soup, House Salad and Minestrone Soup all cost $3.99. The Grilled Salmon Caesar is the most expensive at $11.49.
Specials: If you go during lunch (Monday - Friday from 11:00a.m.- 3:30p.m) you can order bottomless soup, salads and bread for $5.99! On Monday night, guest can order a large two-topping pizza pie for $9.99! Tuesday is family night. On Tuesday, kids' meals are only ninety-nine cents ($0.99)! Wednesday is Wine Night. Guest can order ½ price bottles of wine on Wednesday!
