Caught on Video: What Do You Think of the Former UFC Star's Actions?
Roger Huerta, who...well, OK, he does endorse violence (but not against girls, apparently...) was involved in a bloody, brutal street fight outside an Austin bar last Saturday (TMZ). After witnessing a man punch a woman, essentially knocking her cold, you can see Roger Huerta jump into action in the Roger Huerta street fight video linked right here.

Was what can be seen in the beginning of the Roger Huerta street fight video (posted by TMZ) enough to condone what Huerta himself did moments later? Is one act of violence ever an acceptable response to another, and it it ever fair for a UFC fighter to clobber a "civilian"?
Though the video of last weekend's violence appears to show mayhem, it also shows someone taking action when he saw something unacceptable happening. It's very true, violence can quickly spiral out of control, especially with a mob of likely drunken people milling around the scene; but should Roger Huerta have done nothing?
The question remains: was Roger Huerta's response an acceptable one? An honorable one? Or do you think Huerta is potentially just as guilty of aggravated assault as the man who struck the woman may be? Let your opinion be known in the comments section below!

Never been an MMA fan until now! Any "man" who punches a woman - let alone one that's not even looking deserves to be beaten within an inch of his life. In the case of a former NFL wash out like Rashad Bobino... I really hope the guy was beaten to death. Anyway, huge Roger Huerta fan now!
It appears to me the guy that hit the girl was some kind of security since the crowd control were wearing the same orange shirt so that makes it more of an even fight also we don't see the first punch thrown or hear the audio between the two men. Roger may well have been trying to restrain the guy until the police arrived. In any case maybe that jerk will think twice before he hits another girl.One more thing how would Roger have known that punch to the back of the girls head was caught on video.I sure hope that if that were to ever happen to me there was a roger around and not just someone watching with a camera.
The moron had more of a chance againist Roger than she did. I think Roger should meet the guy there again next Sat. night and continue installing manners into him with his foot.
Is there a seriously a moral dilemna over this? Let me put a couple of things out there for you. The classless moron that had the nerve to sucker punch a woman in the back of the head and then had some manners beat into him by a man that is at least 50lbs lighter, does not deserve pity. If you argue that Huerta is a trained UFC fighter, I will counter in saying that the idiot had no reservations about not only punching a woman, but sucker punching her. So while Huerta obviously outclassed this degenerate, I would not say that Captain NoHonor was any more outclassed by Huerta than the woman was. Huerta stood up for something he believed in, putting himself in harms ways to protect someones daughter. I am thankful that there are still good men out there that are willing to do that and to all the tree hugging soccer moms that have a problem with Huertas actions, remember that when it's your turn to be on the receiving end of the sucker punch.
I cannot believe how cowardly people are these days. Just listen to yourself try to defend a man that just knocked a girl out cold. It makes me sick to think that people are scared of getting into trouble with the law that they through their moral compass out the window. If a guy hits a woman he deserves to get his a** kicked. No questions asked.Those of you who would sit there and watch something like that happen without reacting need to reevaluate yourselves. In that situation it was more than fair for a UFC fighter to be fighting a civilian. The girl did not stand a chance against that guy. At least the guy had somewhat of a chance against Roger. It is great to see someone step up and defend what they think is morally right. That guy got everything that was coming to him. It is a shame there are not more people willing to do the exact same thing that Roger did.
Roger should have let the guy know he was gunning for him. Unless he knew the girl he could have let the video convict the guy that hit the girl. Now its a race to file a law suit and if the guy files for the attack on his person before Roger then the clean hands doctrine applies.

jsut watched the video. On one hand, it is good to see someone atually take action when smeone is in distress, ut it almost appeared he had his own agnenda. If it was just to help the woman, he could have restrained the man, and yes this may have taken a punch, but he continued to chase the guy like a cat and mouse game. There was no need for that. As a mattr of fact, since the crowd was rather large and many intoxicated, his actions could have riled uo the crowd nd incited more violance. Great job on this, I like the wa you make the reader ponder all sides of te situation
