Americans for Taxpayer Reform Gain Another Signature from Oklahoma

Oklahoma City, OK - July 1, 2010 - Roger L. Jackson, who is running for Oklahoma Governor, signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge today.

Since President Reagan signed the pledge in 1986, over 1,100 elected state office holders have signed. The Taxpayer Protection Pledge, established by Americans for Taxpayer Reform(ATR), is a commitment to veto or oppose ANY tax increases. Jackson signed the pledge knowing that he will not only oppose new taxes, but is devoted to reducing unnecessary taxes and expenditures in the state of Oklahoma.

Jackson encourages other candidates to sign the pledge as well. "Win or lose, I believe commitments such as the Taxpayer Protection Pledge let voters know where candidates stand. At the same time, it keeps candidates and elected officials accountable to their constituents. Oklahomans, as well as Americans in general, see that government spending is out of control. They need reassurances."

About Roger L. Jackson (http://www.Jacksonforokgov.com/)

Roger L. Jackson is a strong conservative with Christian values who loves Oklahoma and has lived here his entire life. He has been married to Karen Sue for 31 years. They are active members of Highland Hills Baptist Church. He received his bachelor of business administration degree in marketing from the University of Oklahoma in 1973.

Like many of you, Roger is fighting mad from watching the mismanagement of Oklahoma's budget crisis. He wants to tackle the financial emergency from a new perspective. He has no ties to special interests. He is not a career politician. Among other plans, as governor he will cut his pay from $147,000 to $50,000 a year and re-establish Oklahoma's $1 Billion overnight liquidity fund in Oklahoma banks.

Let's hope the states' power to control taxes isn't usurped by the fed.
