Rogert Ebert Has Received the Honorary Life Member Award; Is Miley Cyrus a Racist?

Colleen Starr
In celebrity news Rogert Ebert has received the Honorary Life Member award by the Directors Guild of America and Miley Cyrus is causing some drama with alleged racist pictures.

Roger Ebert has received the "Honorary Life Member Award" by The Directors Guild of America.

Roger Ebert has been a film critic since 1967 when he first had a column in the Chicago-Sun times. Roger became a household name with his TV show "Siskel & Ebert at the Movies"

Roger has not been able to talk since July of 2007 following a surgery to help remove cancerous growths in his throat. He still actively reviews movies only now he writes instead of speaks his reviews.

Is Miss. Goodie-goodie Miley Cyrus a racist?

The picture of Miley Cyrus and friends making their eyes slanted.

Miley Cyrus appears in the controversial photo with 6 other people including one of Asian descent. Miley and friends are all making there eyes slant to make themselves appear Asian. The guy who is actually Asian did not do anything different with his eyes. He does not appear offended in the picture. He looks like he was enjoying the fun with his friends. A organization called the OCA has issued a press release regarding the Miley pictures "The photograph of Miley Cyrus and other individuals slanting their eyes currently circulating the Internet is offensive to the Asian Pacific American community and sets a terrible example for her many young fans. This image falls within a long and unfortunate history of people mocking and denigrating individuals of Asian descent. " The OCA wants Miley to apologize to the Asian Pacific Americans (APA) and her fans for the insulting picture.

Take a look at the picture yourself here that Perez Hilton linked to and decide for yourself is Miley is indeed a racist. I can understand why the OCA group and many Asian Americans are upset. The picture is offensive but, she is a 16 year old girl. Most 16 year olds are not as sensitive to world issues as they should be. Miley, just apologize and learn from this mistake. Isn't she under age to be at a party where people are drinking...at least it seems like one of them is drinking wine...and she probably didn't think at all of what the picture would mean...she is just a kid

I personally don't think she is being racists, and I really wish people would stop acting like their life is so perfect to pick at every little thing people in hollywood do, I mean come the F on people they are just like us, they do the same stuff, so take their lives out from under the magnifiying glass and get over it. There are more important things in life then wut Miley does. I mean hello isn't the housing market falling apart and people loosing their jobs left and right. Lets try to find a way to fix that instead of dogging a 16 yr old GIRL who is trying to have fun with her friends. Maybe if u would take ur heads out of ur asses u could have fun too.

i know it seems extremely racist, but, there is an Asian person in the photo with her...he doesn't look too angry...

Come on people....seriously? There are millions of people that do exactly what she's doing, and it's done out of fun. I'm part Asian and I do it all the time cause it's fun to do and it's a good laugh. Hell, if I'm not mistaken the guy right next to her is Asian, and I'm pretty sure if he had a problem with the picture he wouldn't be in it. People need to get a grip and just stop trying to get people in trouble over stupid things. Get a grip on reality. People make racial joke, and have fun doing all kinds of things similar to this for fun and laughs. You can't take it then shut up and sit in a corner somewhere. This is coming from a guy that's black and Asian. I find it to be extremely hilarious, and if she were to ask me what other things could be done to make it funnier...I'd have a really long list to hand over for it.

Oh god, perez hilton is such a buttplug. To cut a long story short, I work in conjunction with the human rights and equal opportunities commission and in my opinion, I would hazard a guess that it's far more of a case of uneducated childish idiocy.
Is miley a racist, only she would know the answer to this ... is what she is doing offensive, yes - to some people it would be and that's where education comes into it.
