Stephanie Armstrong
Rogue Artists Ensemble is ready to amaze audiences with their new show Hyperbole: Origins at the [Inside] the Ford Theater in Los Angeles. The story touches upon the origin of the universe through ancient and modern stories and includes a combination of science, myth, faith and humanity. The show's soundtrack includes music from Deerhoof, Oh No Ono, Max Tundra, Josiah Wolf, The Ditty Bops and more.

The play will be part of the [Inside] the Ford Theatre's 2010-2011 season and will run from November 6 through December 12, 2010. General admission tickets are now on sale for $20 Senior and student prices are $12. There are "pay what you can" performances on November 7, 13 and 14. Visit the Ford Theatres website for the complete schedule.

Rogue Artists
The Rogue Artists Ensemble is comprised of multi-disciplinary artists who change the way theatergoing is experienced. Los Angeles theater buffs should really catch any play that the Rogue Artists put on. They create original and elaborate sets to emphasize the story they are telling. According to the Rogue Artists Ensemble, they group started at the University of California, Irvine.

What is Hyper-theater?
What sets the Rouge Artists Ensemble apart from the rest of the theater groups in Los Angeles is their utilization of technology and art to create hyper-theater. Hyper-theater includes a combination of puppets, masks, music and digital projection. It is like a hybrid of traditional theater, puppetry and music videos.

Gogol Project
I had seen the Rogues in action at last year's Gogol Project. It was incredibly creative, funny, heartwarming and visual eye candy. The surreal music for the show was composed by Ego Plum. The soundtrack for the Gogol Project is available for purchase at Amazon.

Awards
The Rogue Artists Ensemble received six nominations from the L.A. Drama Critics Circle Awards. They took home three awards for Writing, Puppet/Mask Design and CGI/Video for the Gogol Project. LA Weekly also nominated them for six categories and they won an LA Weekly Award for Mask Design for the Gogol Project.
