The first thing I have to admit is that these are not inexpensive pretzels by any means. A 7 ounce package of Rold Gold Dark Dipped Bavarian Twists costs $2.99. I happened to get this snack on sale, but even on sale they were still $2.50. Because Rold Gold is such a high quality brand, I think the price suits the quality. Still, this isn't something I plan to purchase on a regular basis.
Another characteristic worth noting is the size of these pretzels. They are the largest chocolate covered pretzels I've purchased in a package. In fact, there are around 14 in the package, which makes the price seem even higher. But, I have to say, I was really impressed by the large size of the pretzels.
Now, the most important part. Rold Gold Dark Dipped Bavarian Twists have a decadent taste that should be reserved for adult palates. The delicate taste of the salty pretzel combined with the dark chocolate fudge is unbelievable. The dark chocolate doesn't even taste that bitter because the salt enhances the sweetness of the chocolate. However, the coating is still smooth and dark tasting. These would be perfect with a large mocha.
A serving of Rold Gold Dark Dipped Bavarian Twists is 2 pretzels. This serving has 140 calories, 6 grams of fat, 5 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans-fat, 0mg of cholesterol, 210mg of sodium, 20 grams of carbohydrates, 2 grams of fiber, 10 grams of sugar, 2 grams of protein, 2% of your daily riboflavin, 4% of your daily iron, 2% of your daily magnesium and 2% of your daily phosphorus.
If you love chocolate covered pretzels, I highly recommend this product. I rate the product 4.5 out of 5 stars. The only reason I take off half a star is the price. Otherwise, this product has perfect taste, is satisfying and the perfect evening snack with a cup of coffee.
