Romance in Disney World

Ebie Harris
When we think of Disney World the first thing to come to our minds is probably not romance. Although I have found that Disney actually offers some of the most romantic settings of any vacation destinations.

Some of the first class resorts offered on the Disney property are host to the most beautiful scenery around. I find the tropical decor, lush gardens, and white sandy beaches of Disney's Polynesian Resort to be super romantic. The Grand Floridian is a beautiful resort that offers wonderful spa services. Relax with a romantic massage for two. The Fort Wilderness Campgrounds offers cozy carriage rides or a chance to curl up with one another by the fire under the night sky. Romance can be found on every budget among the Disney resorts.

Many evenings full of romance start out with a romantic dinner. In Epcot for that romantic feel dine at Le Cellier Steakhouse in Canada. This restaurant offers superb dining amongst an intimately lighted restaurant. The low ceilings and lights of the lanterns give Le Cellier Steakhouse a feeling of an old wine cellar. Take a small boat ride to the Grand Floridian and head over to Narcoossee's. Enjoy seafood as you look out the window at the beautiful shoreline.

Sometimes nothing can be more romantic then a walk through a foreign country. Head over to World Showcase in Epcot and stroll through the different countries. Immerse yourself into the diverse cultures and pick up an unique souvenir. Indulgence yourself with the desserts of France, marvel at the beautiful art in Italy, or grab a seat along the lagoon at the Rose & Crown Pub in the United Kingdom to watch IllumiNations. IllumiNations: Reflection of Earth is Epcot's firework and light show.

When it comes to romance there really are endless possibilities at Disney World. Downtown Disney offers incredible waterfront views and plenty of entertainment. Disney's Boardwalk transports you back to the feeling of summer vacations at the Atlantic Boardwalk. The Magic Kingdom, often thought of as the most child friendly park, holds many hidden romantic features. What is more romantic then Cinderella's castle and the fantasy of finding your Prince Charming? The Magic Kingdom is also home to Wishes. Wishes is an amazing fireworks show that is set to music.

With special events year-round like the Food & Wine festival you are sure to find romance. Take a fireworks cruise, stroll around the the neatly groomed paths of the Caribbean Beach Resort, take a horse drawn carriage ride. If you cannot come up with some romance on your own there are Disney specialists available to help. After all Disney is the place where "dreams come true."
