Romantic Christmas Presents to Give to Newlyweds

Finding a Christmas present for your close friends can be a little difficult at times and it can be even more difficult when a friend has recently married. How do you find romantic and thoughtful Christmas presents for newlyweds that aren't tacky? I have put together a list of ideas with several romantic Christmas present choices that would be ideal for newlyweds.

To help you get started on your Christmas shopping, I found three websites with a variety of romantic Christmas present ideas for couples. They are RomancingOnlyYou.com; CandleLightMessages.com; and Gifts.com. The first two websites have large selections of different romantic gifts at different prices that will fit most budgets and many of which are perfect for Christmas presents for newlyweds. The last website, Gifts.com has you choose your gift recipient and what the occasion of the gift is and then offers you choices that are targeted specifically for your gift recipient.

A romantic Christmas present idea for newlyweds would be the Fantasy Evenings Escape Gift Set. This set includes 300 thread count natural colored Egyptian poly/cotton satin sheet with ESCAPE printed on it along with two pillowcases; a vanilla candle tin; bubble bath; rosemary and lavender massage oil; and a "Sounds of the Ocean" CD all in a handy travel case. It is available for $89.99 for a Queen size or $99.99 for a King size. With a Christmas present like this, the newlywed couple can have a romantic escape either at home or take it with them on a trip to really escape everyday life.

A more extravagant version of the Fantasy Evenings Escape Gift Set is the Romantic Bedroom Design Kit which comes with 1000 silk rose petals; twelve votive Candles (or LED votives for hotels); pearl heart lariat necklace and earrings; romantic music CD; feather boa; chocolate truffles; cloth envelope and personalized high thread count (you chose which thread count you want) bed sheet for $429.99. And you are not on your own in figuring out how to use the kit either, you can visit the website for instructions on how to use and stage the romantic bedroom! This gift would be extremely personal and only for very good friends. Plus you might want to actually give it to just one member of the newlywed couple so they can have the fun of surprising their partner with it.

A sweet and thoughtful Christmas present for the newlyweds could be a matching set of bath towels, bath sheets, hand towels and washcloths that have been personalized with their initials. It would be best if you know the colors the couple has in their bathroom before you make a purchase such as this one. You can buy personalized sheet sets as well. Two websites that offer a nice selection of towels, sheets and personalization choices are Candlelightmessages.com and RomancingOnlyYou.com.

Romantic gift baskets are another idea for a Christmas present that is sure to put a smile on the face of the newlyweds. Gift basket choices are extremely varied in both contents and prices. Some of the romantic gift baskets that I saw at CandlelightMessages.com included personalized robes, candles, spa treatment items, towels, liquor, and my personal favorite: the "Hot Off the Grill" Gift Basket which includes a barbecue apron and matching oven mitt; two shish kebab baskets; wooden skewers; corn holders; four plate holders; a set of barbeque basting brushes; Jim Beam steak sauce; Brazos legends stampede barbeque sauce; wine-aged grilling chips; cinnamon roasted cashews; hearth baked sourdough wine bites and sesame crackers all in a sea grass wooden basket for $79.99.

You can also put together your own romantic gift basket fairly easily by picking a simple theme; for example a romantic picnic. You could add any of the following: a bottle of wine or champagne, corkscrew, two wine glasses, tablecloth, small jar of caviar, crackers, baguette of French bread, meats, cheese, Dijon mustard, chocolate dipped strawberries, napkins, small glass vase with one red silk rose, etc. and put them all together in a wicker picnic basket. Other themes would work for this too such as a romantic dinner with an Italian theme with things like spaghetti noodles, pasta sauce, parmesan cheese, Italian bread etc.

A lower priced Christmas gift idea for the newlywed couple is to buy them personalized stationery or address labels with their names and newly married status on them. One company with a huge selection of personalized items is VistaPrint.com. They do specialize in personalized products for businesses but don't let that stop you from checking them out. You can personalize ANY of their products for YOU and your personal home use. They have a huge selection of pictures and logos to choose from to add to any of their products or for a small fee, you can upload a personal picture or logo to use. Vistaprint.com does offer help through their templates but you can erase and add and make any changes you want. Not only can you get personalized stationery or address labels, you can buy personalized hats, T-shirts, postcards, giant magnets, window decals, rubber stamps, pens, and so much more. It's a fun website to visit to see what you can get FREE from them too and just pay the shipping. Personalized items such stationery and address labels along with envelopes and postage stamps could be combined into a gift basket for a thoughtful and almost romantic Christmas present.

What could be more thoughtful than giving the newlywed couple a trip to a romantic destination for Christmas? Obviously this Christmas present option would be expensive but if you know enough about the newlywed couple and their travel likes and dislikes, you can search for something like bed and breakfast package deals or cruise line package deals. Different romantic destinations have a wide range of price points depending on where, when, etc. but a few websites to help you get started are Barbados.org; TropicalFiji.com; and How2Vacation.com.

After reading this article and choosing a romantic Christmas present for the newlyweds and you think it would be funny to give a tacky "gag" Christmas present first, check out this Two Person T-shirt. You can give the newlyweds the Two Person T-shirt gift first before bringing out the real gift and keep the Christmas spirits laughing at your house this year!

Hey Teresa, What great ideas! My husband is a pastor, and we actually had a wedding today! I added you as a favorite today, and asked for a feeder e-mail so that I know when you post something new!
