A Little Romance Outside Amish Country

Arthur, Illinois is mostly home to Amish made food, Amish made crafts and a few family restaurants. For couples looking to bring some romance to their dining for the evening, they can travel to nearby Decatur or Mattoon for a relaxing ambiance and quiet time to spend with each other. Decatur is approximately forty five minutes west of Arthur while Mattoon is a half an hour east from Arthur.

For some authentic Italian dining, couples on their date can dine in at Tuscany's located in Decatur, Illinois on West Wood street. The menu at Tuscany's serve anything from steak, pasta, seafood, salads and an appetizing list of wines to have served with your dinner. Before beginning your dinner, you can also snack on the bread and olive oil that is available. The dining area is romantic and comfortable with the lights lit low, allowing you to focus on your sweet heart as you enjoy pleasant conversation with your special date. Some of the dishes that you may order at Tuscany's include Filed Mignon,New York Strip steak, baked pork chop and rib-eye. There are also a variety of chicken, veal and seafood available too. Dessert specials change from day to day. Pasta lovers can enjoy the baked pasta dishes such as cannelloni portabello and manicotti. You can also choose simple familiar meals such as pizza and sandwiches as well. While waiting on your order to be prepared, some of the appetizers you can enjoy are stuffed mouth-watering mushrooms, shrimp cocktail or bruschetta . Tuscany's is open every day for both lunch and dinner.

In Mattoon, just a half hour away is the Alamo Steakhouse. The steakhouse has a couple different flows for your dining experience. The bottom half of the restaurant is mostly the bar area as the upper levels are used for guests who would like to dine outside the bar. The décor is mostly a western yet classic feel and is paired with pleasant and upbeat atmosphere. The staff will do their best to make you feel welcome so that you can enjoy a non-stressful night with the one that you love. You and your date may begin your dinner with refreshing drinks such as margaritas, daiquiris, martinis or draft beers. Non-alcohol drinkers can also enjoy ice teas and soda. For something simple to "hold you over," until dinner is served, snack on appetizers such as quesadillas, mini cheeseburgers or chicken strips. Entree meals include Porterhouse steaks, Angus New York Strip, halibut, lobster and crab or a Yankee pot roast. The steakhouse is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.

So if you find yourself amongst the handmade crafts or fine family restaurant dining-keep in mind that romance isn't too far away. Let a friend or close family member keep the children or plan ahead for this special night so that you can have time to reconnect over delicious and appetizing food along with memorable conversation. Turn the lights low in the car, crank up your favorite tunes and drive to your place of choice for some romantic dining.

    There is something special about Amish country that I find thoroughly relaxing my friend. This is an extraordinarily good article and review of it. Makes me wish I lived closer.
