Romantic Getaways for Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is a great opportunity to make time for the special person in your life. It seems as though life is so crazy and busy that we often do not make time for the love of our life. This Valentine's Day I recommend that each and every couple find away to go away on a romantic getaway. Surprise him or her with all of the plans made and the weekend bag packed so there is no excuse. Leave the blackberry, laptops and cell phones at home because it is time to think about each other and interruptions are not allowed.

If you live in Virginia, consider the Island Manor House Bed & Breakfast with a Spa. This place is fabulous in the summer because it is on the eastern island community of Chincoteague Island but it is even nicer in the winter. The view is spectacular and they have a winter package from January to March that is super affordable. This is as romantic as romantic can get in the middle of winter. My husband and I love this place it is a real gem. To make your reservations visit www.islandmanor.com .

If you reside in the Tri-State area of NJ, CT and NY, the Grand Cascades Lodge located in the Northwestern section of NJ is stunning. This establishment is rated a four star hotel and resort. You will not believe that you are in the Garden State. Some of the suites have a fireplace, there is a beautiful pool that looks more like a lagoon that is heated for all year around use. For reservations and details visit www.crystalgolfresort.com.

Live in the beautiful mountain country of West Virginia? Then you should consider a Valentine's Day package at the Greenbrier (www.greenbrier.com) located in White Sulphur Springs. This resort and spa has the majestic views of the mountains and it is an extremely relaxing place to spend the weekend. If you are athletic and active, there are many recreational activities to choose from . I personally love the selection of spa services. I enjoy the Greenbrier equally in the winter months as I do in the summer. The overall ambience is old money luxury.

The last romantic getaway on my list is the Grove Park Inn in Asheville North Carolina. This place is like a castle and can make any couple feel like royalty. The property has ample restaurants, bars and lounges that you can enjoy the entire weekend and not have to leave the property. I enjoyed relaxing at the piano bar with my husband and just getting the opportunity to talk without any interruptions. The staff is exceptionally warm and welcoming and it has an elegant charm that is difficult to put into words but rather something you must experience. Visit www.groveparkinn.com for reservations.

I hope you get the opportunity to visit any of the above getaways for this Valentine's Day, it is time that is needed for each of us to recollect and enjoy the things that mean the most to us.
