Romantic Getaways: Weekend Adventures in the Northeastern USA

You Need to Visit These 3 Places

All couples need a little romance to spice up their marriage. My wife and I have been fortunate to find some amazing spots across our country to do just such a thing. Loaded with the information you are about to receive I encourage you to quit procrastinating and take charge by getting out your credit card. Purchase your airline tickets, book your hotels, and visit these three great places. These are my three picks for the great romantic getaways and weekend adventures, and travel in the Northeast USA.

1. Caesar's Pocono Mountain Resort. Caesar's Pocono Mountain Resort is nestled in the heart of the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania, and is the perfect place for a romantic getaway in the northeastern United States. This place is great for honeymooners as well as those celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary. Upon arrival we were whisked away in our love chariot across this vast resort. The food was fabulous as we dined with couples from all over the United States. The menu each evening was a variety of chef prepared meals, breakfast in bed was a treat, and the dessert bar at midnight was awesome. The entertainment was great as we were fortunate enough to be there during a comedy showcase. And the rooms truly are for the couple looking to add a little spark back into their relationship. We stayed in the Champagne Suite that featured a 7 foot tall champagne bath tub. Our room also included a heart shaped pool and a fireplace that is perfect for cuddling. There are plenty of activities to enjoy while on site: putt putt, ice skating, hiking, and archery are just a sampling of the things you can do while visiting Caesar's Pocono Mountain Resort. Cost for our week ran us about $1500 but weekends can be had for about $500 and is all inclusive.

2. Village Victorian Bed and Breakfast. This small little bed and breakfast is located in Morrisville, VT. My wife and I love spending the weekend in a bed and breakfast, and this one ranks high on our list of favorites. We stayed at the Village Victorian on a recent trip to experience the fall foliage. We were not disappointed by by our stay at this quaint bed and breakfast, nor the dazzling display of fall colors. Our room at the Victorian featured a full bathroom with shower and bathtub, queen sized bed, cable TV, and it's very own thermostat. The Village Victorian is situated just a hop and a skip from Stowe Vermont so you have access to great restaurants, movies, shopping and just about anything else you could want. Service was great, rooms were quiet, and the breakfast was ample and delicious. Rates run around $160 per night during the fall foliage season, and it is worth every penny.

3. Niagara Falls New York. Niagara falls may seem an unusual pick for a romantic getaway in the northeastern United States, but the hotel I am suggesting is definitely for those desiring a secluded weekend in a great hotel. If you have never experienced the power of Niagara Falls then you need a hotel that lets you experience Niagara Falls every minute of your stay. The Oakes Hotel is the perfect choice for a hotel at Niagara Falls. They offer stunning views of the falls. Some rooms even offer you a view from your couch or bed. The rooms are moderately equipped, and featured everything you would need for a weekend. There is plenty to do in Niagara Falls, and plenty of great places to eat. My suggestion is to skip everything but Niagara Falls as it is truly an overwhelming sight both day and night. The hotel also offers entertainment at different times of the year, we unfortunately did not make the country and western show. Our romance package included two gourmet dinners, a king room with a falls view, and a 2 nights stay. Rates for the 2 night romance package was about $300.

I hope you enjoy your next visit to the Northeast, now grab your partner and get going. Enjoy some fast getaways weekend adventures and more in the Northeast USA.

We've been to Niagra Falls, which was really cool. But I would love to try the B&B in Vermont you mentioned!
