Romantic L.A. Restaurants for Valentine's Day

Melissa Matters
There are so many good restaurants in Los Angeles. After all, it is where the stars live. Here are six of the most romantic for Valentine's Day.

Paradise Cove

Paradise Cove is up Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. With its beautiful ocean view and elegant food, it is a perfect Valentine's Day date. Try the Drunken Salmon with a run glaze and pineapple salsa. Or try the blackened wild halibut. After dinner, take a stroll along the restaurants private beach. Parking is $3 for four hours with a restaurant validation or $25 for the whole day.

Pace

Located on 2100 Laurel Canyon Boulevard, this Italian restaurant is rustically romantic. At night the dining room has an earthy glow to it. The meats are all antibiotic and hormone free and the produce is all organic. The pizzas have a yummy ciabatta crust. Call 323-654-7943 for more information. You can go online to paceonline.com to make same day reservations.

Hamptons at the Four Seasons

This restaurant is located in the Four Seasons at Westlake Village. This is a lovely hotel to stay at and some of the restaurant overlooks waterfalls and gardens. For Valentine's Day, there is a four course dinner for $95 per person. Call (818)-575-300 for more information.

Ocean and Vine

Ocean and vine is located in the Loews Santa Monica hotel. They have farmere's markets greens and fancy things like truffle scented potatoes. See the menu here. Take a walk on the Santa Monica pier or walk up a few streets to third street promonade for some fun entertainment.

George's Bistro

I have been here twice. There is a quaint little location on Third Street Promonade in Santa Monica. You can sit on the patio and people watch. Two times I have ordered the mahi-mahi and it was delicious two times. It comes with a side of angel hair in a simple sauce that is so good too. I have also been to the Valencia location that is dark and dreamy.

Wolfcreek

This cozy little restaurant is located in Saugus which is a suburb of Los Angeles. I am a regular here. They have great salads, pizza and pasta. They have a special menu for Valentine's day. Also, they have an extensive list of beers that they brew in house. To get here, take the five freeway north until you reach Newhall Ranch Road. The cross streets are McBean and Decoro. Call 661-263-9653 for more information on their valentine's day specials.

You sold me on the Bistro when you said you had the mahi-mahi. It's my all-time favorite! Cheers.
