Romantic Restaurants in Eugene, Oregon

Adam Sparks
Looking for the perfect restaurant for a night out with that special someone? Eugene, Oregon, has plenty of perfect options, with cuisine ranging from Pacific Northwest to Mediterranean and Italian. You'll find intimate settings, delicious entreés and extensive wine and dessert menus at each of the following restaurants.

Oregon Electric Station

Oregon Electric Station is located in downtown Eugene, at the site of the city's original train depot, built in 1912. Historic railroad cars are connected to the building and provide a romantic atmosphere for dining. The O.E.S. Wine Cellar is housed in an antique railroad car and holds more than 250 wine labels. Oregon Electric Station serves steaks and seafood, and the prime rib is a signature entreé, slow-roasted in special ovens and served with creamed horseradish, garlic mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. The menu also includes an extensive list of pastas, including the popular seafood fettucine. Other seafood items include grilled halibut with a parmesan crust and Australian lobster tail. The restaurant also has three lounges that periodically host live Jazz musicians, and there's a giant, gorgeous bar located just inside the main entrance. Oregon Electric Station fills up quickly on weekend nights and on special occasions, such as Valentine's Day, so reservations are recommended.

The family-owned and operated restaurant has been a fixture in Eugene since 1970, and serves Italian and Sicilian food made with local and regional ingredients, including vegetables grown on the Mazzi's farm and breads baked in the adjoining Hideaway Bakery. The menu is extensive; highlights include fresh pastas, homemade minestrone soup, calzones and pizzas cooked in a wood-fire oven. Daily specials vary depending on in-season fare, and have included entreés such as pan-fried trout, salmon and wild mushroom ravioli. Add a glass of wine from the drink menu, and don't forget to save room for one of Mazzi's delicious desserts.
