A nice dinner out is one of the most popular ways to celebrate Valentine's Day. Kansas City has some terrific romantic dinner options for all budgets and cuisine tastes. Some of these restaurants even have special Valentine's Day dinner menus or other specials.

Avenues Bistro
Avenues Bistro now has two locations in the Kansas City metropolitan area - one in Brookside and one in Leawood. Avenues Bistro presents a casual, yet modern and intimate atmosphere. Both locations offer a $49/person fixed price menu, as well as their traditional menu on Valentine's Day. Avenues Bistro offers a little bit of everything for all tastes - including European fare, a varied tapas menu, and more traditional American items like steak and chicken. This reviewer encourages diners at Avenues Bistro to try the Steak Frites - their most popular item. It's to die for!

Skies Restaurant & Lounge
Skies Restaurant cannot be beaten for atmosphere in Kansas City. Resting high above Kansas City on the 42nd floor of the Hyatt Regency in downtown, Skies is a revolving restaurant that offers views of nearly the entire city. Skies is also known for their steak and seafood options that are smoked on applewood chips, as well as full bar offerings. Skies will be offering their normal menu on Valentine's Day.

The Melting Pot
The Melting Pot in Kansas City is part of a nationwide fondue franchise known for their intimate atmosphere. In Kansas City, The Melting Pot is located in the Plaza. Perhaps the best part of dinner at The Melting Pot is the intimate atmosphere where diners can take their time enjoying dinner and company. For Valentine's Day, The Melting Pot offers three special packages (Silver, Gold, and Platinum). The Silver Package provides a four course meal (including cheese fondue, salad, main course and dessert) and champagne. The Silver Package runs $150/couple. The Gold and Platinum packages add additional wine and rose options and go up to $250/couple.

Le Fou Frog
Le Fou Frog is Kansas City's most famous French restaurant. Located in the River Market, Le Fou Frog serves elegant food in a delightful, soft lit, intimate atmosphere. The restaurant will serve its traditional menu on Valentine's Day. Make sure to try the French Onion Soup, Filet, or awesome Foie Gras. Prices on entrees range from $10 to $50.
