Delong's Casual Dining and Spirits offers a wide choice of delicious steaks, chicken, and fish with daily and evening specials. DeLong's upstairs area, with its low, cozy ceilings, and plush seating, provides a perfect setting for a romantic dining experience. DeLongs, located on the square in beautiful downtown Pontiac, is in an older renovated building with gorgeous tin ceilings. After dining, walk off your dinner by strolling around the square in Pontiac and view other downtown historic buildings, such as the Empire-style Livingston county courthouse built in 1874-1875., and an original movie theatre located a short distance from the square. La Mex
If you are a fan of Mexican food, La Mex, open 11 am to 9 pm daily, offers authentic Mexican food in an upscale romantic atmosphere with colorful Mexican décor. Remember authentic Mexican food tends to be on the bland side and this is true of La Mex. If you prefer Mexican food a little on the spicier side, see the Mexican restaurant reviewed immediately below La Mex. La Mex is located at the junction of Route 66 and Route 23 at 930 W. The Bernardi family opened Bernardi's II Italian Restaurant, featuring an upscale dining experience, on the historic square of downtown Pontiac, Illinois in 2005. Fun Things to Do in Pontiac, Illinois
Pontiac, Illinois features many historic downtown buildings including the Route 66 Antique Shop and War Museum, the Jones House, and Yost House. Those interested in history will find the Looking for Lincoln trail fascinating (see visitpontiac.org for information).
For outdoor recreation, stroll around Pontiac's river parks-Chautauqua Park and River Side-Humiston Park--that feature historic swinging bridges over the Vermilion River.
Take a drive to Humiston Woods, a short distance north on State Route 23 for hiking and picnicking.
If you prefer indoor activities, the Recreation Center located near Pontiac Township High School, offers indoor swimming in a heated Olympic-size pool, weight room, exercise machines, such as inclines, tread mills, and bicycles, an indoor walking/jogging track, and a basketball court. Additionally, the Recreation Center has a huge livingroom area with wide screen TV, comfortable sofa, dining tables and chairs, and a small kitchen area. Free coffee is available. The Recreation Center's livingroom/kitchen area can be rented for private parties.

May 1 and May 2, the Red Carpet Corridor Festival, which includes the Hang Loose Car Show, will be held. Communities along a 90-mile stretch of historic Route 66 join in this two-day festival.
