Romantic Weekend Escapes Near Nashville, Tennessee

If you're looking for a romantic weekend escape near Nashville, look no further than a Bed and Breakfast in the beautiful Tennessee countryside. There are several places to escape for the weekend and all will be well worth the drive.

One such place is a true country getaway in the little town of Gordonsville which is about a 50 minute drive from Nashville. Taking a country drive in Tennessee can be a relaxing escape on its own, but when there is a destination as beautiful as this first Bed and Breakfast, the most difficult part might be leaving.

Butterfly Hollow:

Butterfly Hollow is a Bed and Breakfast hidden in an 85-acre valley in the Cumberland Plateau foothills of middle Tennessee. It is close enough to be convenient to Nashville but this is a genuine escape from anything even resembling a city. Butterfly Hollow is the perfect romantic springtime retreat in a natural sanctuary.

The caretakers of this beautiful land strive to be ecology conscious with gardens providing organic vegetables and herbs for the meals served at the Bed and Breakfast. They also have organic soaps and lotions for the guests. This weekend escape will be to a 1899 farmhouse which has been completely renovated, but with the woodsy feeling of a lodge. The owners used timber and stone from the land, along with reclaimed antique lumber. There are only two private rooms for guests in the upstairs portion of the home, each with a private bath.

Butterfly Hollow is a true romantic getaway in the country with an informal, rustic and relaxed atmosphere. This is not a typical commercialized type of B & B. This place is an honest country escape with a natural beauty that is Tennessee at its finest. The place is small and intimate, so the owners can cater to their guests with special touches.

This romantic rural retreat has several packages to choose from including Rest and Relaxation Retreat, Romantic Getaway, and Anniversary and Vow Renewal. Butterfly Hollow also has several wedding packages where wedding pictures can be taken anywhere the guests choose on the gorgeous flower garden and butterfly filled landscape.

The property is aptly named for the thousands of butterflies that inhabit the land during the warm months. The website at Butterfly Hollow will give a glimpse into the awe-inspiring beauty of this romantic retreat. The beautiful photography captures the imagination and you can almost smell the flowers and fresh air.

Blue Moon Farm:

This next romantic Bed and Breakfast is even closer to Nashville. You can have a luxurious three room cottage on the Blue Moon Farm just a short drive south to Franklin, Tennessee. These accommodations are beautiful and spacious with a private cottage house that is elegantly furnished.

There is a living room with beautiful traditional furnishings, a large bedroom with a king-size bed with fine linens and a view of the fantastic country side in Franklin. This escape can be as luxurious as you wish and has a distinctive focus on romance. The state-of-art bath has a walk-in spa shower, a hot air massage bubble tub made for two and a cozy fireplace.

The Blue Moon Farm Private Cottage can be an elegant splurge with several packages to choose from. The first is appropriately called the "Once in a Blue Moon, The Works" for the ultimate in romance. Some of the amenities include two dozen fresh roses, romantic music and fragrant candles. A cheese and fruit platter or an antipasto platter with a chilled bottle of wine will be waiting in your private refrigerator. Other decadent packages to choose from include "The Honeymooner's Delight" and "Champagne and Strawberries."

Another impressive package offered at the Blue Moon Farm is for military service personnel. They offer a romantic getaway with fresh flowers, food and beverages waiting in the cottage so there is no need to leave the comforts of the 48-hour romantic cottage escape. A member of the military can show an active military identification card for a $100.00 discount.

Cedarvine Manor Bed and Breakfast:

Lebanon, Tennessee is just about twenty minutes east of Nashville and home to an antebellum mansion that has been lovingly converted to Cedarvine Manor Bed and Breakfast. The stately 172-year-old house sits on nineteen acres of beautiful gardens. It has eight large guestrooms decorated with beautiful antique furniture and each has a private bath. Some of these elegantly furnished bedrooms have a private veranda entrance which can also be used for romantic dining.

The private rooms in this circa 1872 mansion starts with the largest room titled the Rolls Royce Master Suite with a king size bed, fireplace and a large bath with a whirlpool tub. Other private rooms vary in size and accommodations with some having full size antique beds while others include a queen size bed. They have also included disability access for this elegant Bed and Breakfast located on 22 acres.
