The Grand America Hotel
The Grand America Hotel is located in downtown Salt Lake City and was finished just in time for the 2002 winter Olympics. It has been recognized by a number of sources including AAA and Conde Nast Traveler as a top getaway for a luxurious and romantic weekend and is the only "five diamond hotel" in Utah. The Anniversary Inn
The Anniversary Inn is well-known in the Salt Lake area as being a favorite destination for honeymoons, anniversaries, and other romantic occasions. They have three locations in the greater Salt Lake area and each location is a renovated historic home and truly gives you the feeling that you are getting away from the world. All locations are tastefully decorated and feature themed rooms such as the Romeo and Juliet suite (complete with a sweeping staircase and a jetted tub), The Kahn Mansion suite (featuring a granite fireplace and elegant four poster bed as well as a jetted tub), or The Grand Bridal Suite (featuring a private sitting room, fireplace in the bedroom, and a jetted tub). The Armstrong Mansion
You can take a step back in time if you visit The Armstrong Mansion. The history of the house carries an air of romance as it was a wedding gift from Francis Armstrong to his new bride in 1893. They have twelve suites modeled after the months of the year and another suite called "Cherished Memories." Three additional suites are located in "Annie's Cottage" which is on the north side of the mansion. All guests have the opportunity to partake of a full gourmet breakfast buffet including items such as French toast, quiche, sausage, bacon, homemade cinnamon rolls, and a variety of muffins served in "Isabel's Dining Room." Homemade cookies and beverages are served daily in the "Mayor's Parlor." There are a number of dine-in options available and there are also a number of restaurants in the area if you prefer to dine out. They also have a full service spa and salon which provides services such as massages, facials, pedicures, and manicures.

The Inn on the Hill
If your idea of a romantic escape is to be undisturbed so that you can get away from it all for the weekend, then The Inn on the Hill is a perfect choice. The Inn on the Hill is a restored historic home on located on Capitol Hill. Each room includes access to a balcony which provides stunning views of the city (including Temple Square) as well as the gardens located on the premises. Each room is named after Utah attractions such as Sundance, Salt Air, and Arches National Park. The rooms are large and tastefully decorated in a manner that fits their "theme." Rooms include spa-like bathrooms with jetted tubs. If you prefer more privacy, you have the option of staying in the carriage house which includes a mini kitchen, living room, loft, and workspace as well as a private patio. A hot breakfast is served in the mornings (at individual tables) and complimentary snacks and drinks are available for the rest of your stay.

Woodside Inn
If you are an outdoor enthusiast and don't mind a bit of a drive, the Woodside Inn in Park City, Utah is a great option. You will be minutes from popular ski resorts such as The Canyons, Deer Valley, and Park City. You can tour the Utah Olympic Park, go snowmobiling, or take a romantic sleigh ride. In the summer, there are biking and hiking trails, horseback riding, and you can even take a hot air balloon ride.
The inn itself is fairly new and offers five beautifully decorated guest rooms and one spacious suite. All rooms include luxury linens, slate waterfalls, private baths with double Jacuzzi tubs and separate showers, and standard amenities such as hair dryers, irons, and ironing boards. Thanks for the comments guys! One of the things that I loved when we lived in Utah was that you could go on a weekend getaway and feeling like you really were getting away from everything. Of course, all of those getaways were before kids came along for me so I don't think I had any true comprehension what "getting away from it all" meant at that time :)
