Romantic Weekend Getaways in Las Vegas

S H
One of the great things about a vacation in Las Vegas is that, depending on where you go or stay, it can feel like visiting far-away places without actually leaving the country. This is a nice versatility of atmosphere, especially when one is looking for a romantic getaway. Listed below are some of the absolute best hotels when it comes to a romantic vacation in Vegas.

THE VENETIAN

I don't think there is anything truly better than The Venetian when it comes to Las Vegas Strip hotels, as well as an environment that really helps set a calming, romantic mood. Even the casino floor is separate, creating a quieter and low-key place to be.

Beautiful Italian architecture is abound here, and with the gondola rides offered through the Grand Canal (the perfect attraction for couples) along with the many restaurants (seventeen different ones, to be precise), food stands, and small stores selling all kinds of gourmet goodies - even gelato, Italy's famed "ice cream," it really gives the atmosphere of Venice. The hotel isn't called The Venetian for nothing!

Unlike other hotels on the Strip in Vegas, The Venetian isn't unmanageably huge where you're going to have to walk miles within it just getting from one place to the next and back. Everything is within an easy distance from the next, because the last thing you'd want during a romantic getaway is to be spending an uncomfortable amount of time walking to places. The Canyon Ranch spa is also available for even more pampering and relaxation opportunities.

The 4,000 suites of this hotel - and yes, every room is a suite - are very spacious, even the most basic ones, which start around $129. All of them have beautiful decor and marble bathrooms, creating a lovely and subdued atmosphere. If you have a lot more money to spend, you may want to consider the luxurious Venezia Suites (starting around $169 a night), which have their very own pool and gardens as well as its own 10th-floor express check-in.

Of course, prices may vary all the time depending on the time of year, and may be even more expensive on the weekends. Your best bet for a good deal is to scour their website for promotions they may put up.

THE BELLAGIO

This hotel is second on my list of romantic hotels in Las Vegas for many reasons. One is the gorgeous, ambient decor - even in the lobby itself - that really sets the mood. Another reason is the award-winning dining, especially that at Bellagio Le Cirque French restaurant, where you can view Bellagio's famous fountains while you enjoy a romantic dinner. Speaking of the fountains, that is yet another reason - the Bellagio has its own lakefront, with an amazing 240-foot high display of dancing fountains. This alone is a reason to come to the Bellagio. though you don't actually have to stay there to see the fountains.

There is also a plethora of other great things, such as an area full of unique shops, a relaxing spa, and of course a pool. Bars with live music are also abound here, you can enjoy the Cirque du Soleil and the casino is one of the best in Vegas.

This is also one of the most expensive hotels in las Vegas. The basic room rates tend to begin around $150 a night, and if you're looking towards staying in a suite expect to pay at least $300. These rooms can go all the way up to the several thousands in price! But if you can afford it, it's well worth the stay.

PARIS LAS VEGAS

Paris itself may be known as one of the most romantic cities in the world, but Paris Las Vegas sure does a nice job of recreating the atmosphere without actually going to France. Like all hotels on the Strip, this one is full of amazing decor, including replicas of very famous landmarks that reside in the actual Paris. The shopping area has cobblestone streets and old European architecture that really gives the feel of wandering through a quaint French village. There even happens to be a half-scale Eiffel Tower, which you can actually go to the top of (which is definitely best to do at night) and take in the beautiful Vegas view for around $9.

The Eiffel Tower Restaurant is a five-star place to dine, enjoying the view of the city while you enjoy a romantic evening with delicious food. There are also a couple of other restaurants to choose from - a very nice French bistro and a steakhouse - but the Eiffel Tower Restaurant is the best both in food and in atmosphere. Of course, it's more expensive, too.

Other attractions of Paris Las Vegas include a hip nightclub known as Risque, the relaxing Paris health spa, a rooftop swimming pool, and a huge casino. Shops, small lounges and wonderful Paris-style piano bars are also around. The fact that this hotel is very centrally located on the Strip also opens easy opportunities to get to other places outside the resort. For instance, it's right near the Monte Carlo and Bellagio, for even more fun opportunities.

Paris Las Vegas is comprised of nearly 3,000 rooms and suites, all with a wonderful atmosphere of European decor and marble bathrooms. For an extra amount of added romance, request ahead of time for a room that is facing Bellagio's beautiful fountains. Rates definitely vary, but depending when you go rooms can start as little as around $100 a night. However, it's also been known to being a lot more expensive for the basic rooms. It just depends on when you plan on going - check their website for special deals.
