Can Obama really get white votes? Is America really ready for a black president? I think not. We have come a long way in this country, but we are not as advanced as we like to give ourselves credit for. Racism is still rapid, especially in terms of power. I cannot see white America voting for a black man. It is sad, but true. I could always be wrong though. Perhaps my thoughts have no validity to them.
I am not saying Barack doesn't have a chance. I am simply saying he is going to have to work harder to prove himself. His record will not be enough. His experience will not be enough. He is going to have to effectively show the changes he will bring to the white house. He will have to display a concise plan for issues like health care, social security, and terrorism.
Barack's name may also play a role in his run for presidency. Some voters may consider it to ethnic. There have been many occasions when individuals mistakenly say Osama, as oppose to Barack Obama. Obama is not the only second runner up who has obstacles to overcome. Mitt Romney has some hurdles to jump over himself.
Conservative Mitt Romney has recently been blasted for hiring illegal immigrants on his Boston estate. Illegal immigration is set to be a main issue in the 2008 election and this could definitely harm him in the future. Here he is, with his strong stances against illegal immigration, yet Mexicans are landscaping his grounds. The American public should evaluate several different things before rushing to judge Mitt Romney.
In an effort to lessen the criticism by the media, Romney fires the landscape company, and blasts them for hiring illegal immigrants. IS this justified? What basis does he have to blast them? Companies are not supposed to hire illegals, however should Romney know better? Is e really that naïve? Illegal immigrants take low paying jobs in major cities all across this nation.
Wealthy Americans like Romney hire illegal immigrants all of the time, and it should be exposed. This is nothing new. The American Public should not be shocked. Romney should not make a big deal about immigration if he has done things in the past that conflict with his current beliefs.
