Ron Paul Gets His Own Blimp

Brant McLaughlin
On Friday, Liberty Political Advertising, LLC announced that supporters of Presidential candidate Ron Paul are launching their own, privately funded Ron Paul blimp, something that has gone from concept to reality in less than a month.

The Ron Paul blimp will take to the skies on the morning of December 11th, launching from Elizabeth City, North Carolina and then flying north to New Hampshire, with stop-overs in Washington D.C., New York City, and Boston for thousands of Ron Paul supporters to come cheer it on as it continues its journey over stadiums, parks, highways, and so on and so forth.

Paulites, as they are known, have pledged to donate in excess of $420,000 to fund the blimp for as long as it is needed. No other Presidential candidate has or ever has had his own blimp.

Along with two pilots the blimp, one of the biggest aerocraft in the world, comes with a ground crew of between 15 and 20 people who travel with it and assist with the landings and takeoffs. The gondola seats 12 passengers in addition to the pilots. These seats will be made available to supporters, veterans, charities, dignitaries, and members of the media.

The Ron Paul blimp is scheduled to arrive in Boston for the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party on December 16th, where it will join supporters on the ground who will be protesting the high level of taxation on Americans today. Weather permitting, the blimp is scheduled to remain in New Hampshire for as long as possible up until the New Hampshire primary, after which it will fly down to South Carolina and Florida.

The blimp is emblazoned with the sign, "Ron Paul for President '08" across its sides. It flies up to 30 miles per hour.

It is the hope of the Paulites that images of the flying or hovering blimp will be shown so often by the media that the general public will become mesmerized by the idea of checking out Ron Paul's ideas, which would hopefully then get people to agree with them that he is the greatest hope for the nation. The kind of publicity that the blimp is anticipated to engender for Paul would normally cost millions upon millions of dollars.

Paul is being hailed a "Constitutionalist" because he vows to re-make American government and foreign policy into the image that he feels the Founders wanted them to be. According to Paul, this includes a foreign policy of non-intervention and non-nation building.

When he was recently criticized by Senator John McCain for endorsing a policy of "isolationism" that McCain further asserted was what led to World War II, Paul told the press in reply, "I don't think [he] understands the difference between isolationism and non-intervention. How can he condemn it if the Founders believed in it? George Washington, Jefferson, this was their strong advice."

Hey everyone, check out this site for a Times Square Ad to coincide with the 16 Dec Tea Party Money Bomb. The cutoff is the 12th (I know, not much time), but they only need $50,000.
Great advertising scheme that would reach lots of people.

No he should stay republican party ticket, as it is more important to reshape the republican party into what it once stood for rather than have him run as a no chance third party candidate

Good article. I like Ron Paul, but the blimp idea is kind of a waste of money. I am a firm believer that they should be raising the money to help him to gain third party status instead of pushing him for the Republican ticket. It is a lost cause. The only way for him to gain the amount of attention that he needs is to place him in a third party. he is going to continue to be rejected by most of the major news sources if he continues to try for the Republican ticket.

Now we have air superiority (along with idea superiority). Unfortunately it took segregationist Governor Wallace to reveal the truth that "there's not a dime's worth of difference between" Republicans and Democrats. The Democrats willingly went along with the War in Iraq, suspension of Habeas Corpus, detaining protesters, banning books like "America Deceived' from Amazon, stealing private lands (Kelo decision), warrant-less wiretapping and refusing to investigate 9/11 properly. They are both guilty of treason.
Support Dr. Ron Paul and save this great nation.
