Ron Paul Raises 4.2 Million

Ron Paul, republican congressman with libertarian views, is running for the republican party nomination for president, raised over 4.2 million dollars on November 5th gaining not only the attention of the political world, but the credibility his candidacy deserves.

November 5th is the day Guy Fawkes tried to blow up British Parliament because of fears that government was getting too big. He was also used as a sort of protagonist in the move "V for Vendetta".

Ron Paul is running on a platform to minimize government's power, restore civil liberties, and stop policing the world. In many ways you could look at Ron Paul as modern day Guy Fawkes, and the people love him for it.

A grassroots effort started up as November 5th drew near and a website was quickly made, thisnovember5th.com, in order to get 100,000 people to pledge 100 dollars on the day of november 5th for congressman Ron Paul, so he could raise nearly 10 million dollars in a single day and simultaniously raising the most money in a single day of any candidate ever.

They didn't meet their goal, however they did break records. 37000 people donated money that day to congressman Ron Paul, and as mentioned earlier, he raised 4.2 million dollars, which is more moeny raised in a single day than any other republican candidate currently running. Mitt Romney previously held the record with 3.2 million.

Ron Paul, who was previously known as a longshot for the presidency, and still remains nearly last in national polls, is now considered a top tier candidate with his fund raising and cash on hand.

Ron Paul is well on his way to meeting his 12 million dollar goal by December 31st, as he already is more than half the way there with nearly 8 million dollars already raised.

Ron Paul is the first candidate my husband and I have actually gotten excited enough about to give money to. There's another big money bomb day on Dec. 16th which will prove to be even bigger than the last. I'm very excited!

Give till it hurts. This country needs to take back control of it's grotesquely bloated Federal Government. We need to get back to what the founding fathers intended. If it isn't done through proper channels (elections), some day this countries population will revolt against their own Government.
