Ron Paul Trumps Abortion

The Republican 2008 Presidential Candidate Weighs in on Roe VS. Wade

J. Michael Warner
If Ron Paul becomes president he can not overturn Roe vs. Wade, period. Only the Supreme Court could do that. The fact that the president can not overturn a Supreme Court ruling makes the issue virtually immaterial to the presidential election. Every election cycle we go through this. Using an issue like abortion as a litmus test, when the president has virtually no control over it, degrades the quality of the election. Yes, I know that if enough conservative judges get on the Supreme Court, that could eventually happen. None the less, I believe our country has reached a critical junction in time. The future existence of our country is whats at stake, to me, when comparing whether or not the President of our country favors abortion, vs. our future existence, I will not pick abortion.

Every leader in the Democratic Party, including Barak Obama, Hillary Clinton and John Edwards are in favor of socialism. Read Mein Kampf if you don't believe me. Democrats believe we can't wisely run our own lives or spend our own money.. They believe that since they are so much smarter than the average American, it is only right for them to reach into our pockets and spend our money for us. Democratic politicians may believe in a right to choose, but only for abortion. On every other issue, they are more than willing put controls on us. One of the big issues for Democrats is health care. I have lived in Europe and have had many German friends. All of my German friends felt that they were taxed to much and would have rather have had a system similar to what we have. Germans pay almost 50% of their income in taxes. A good indicator that our system of Democracy is working is, people all over the world want to come here and do, some illegally. I can't think of one country that 12-20 million Americans are willing to go to illegally, while millions more Americans wait in line to legally immigrate.

So that brings us to the Republicans. "Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely." I don't remember if that is a quote that I should be attributing to someone. Anyway, that pretty much describes the current Republican party. Conservatives are supposed to believe in a small government, low taxes and personal freedom. As we all know that ain't what we've been getting. The front runners in the Republican race for president, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson, are all entrenched with the Washington insiders that are spending the American taxpayers money and expanding the size of government daily.
The biggest reason why I don't trust any of these people, The North American Union. Our politicians are all in bed with big business and what big business wants, it gets. Hundreds of millions of dollars are spent every year to influence politicians to do the bidding of big business. Big business wants the United States, Mexico and Canada to form one country similar to the European Union, all in the name of profits.

There is only one man running for president right now that will protect the sovereignty of our country and follow our constitution in everything he does, Ron Paul. With Ron Paul, there will be no North American Union, no expansion of government, no raising of taxes and no erosion of personal freedoms. We know that because we study his voting records and realize he is the real deal.

I like a lot of what Mr Paul has to say about economics and the war. I wont be voting for him. When a woman looks a doc in the eye and says she cant provide a good home for a child at this time and she doesnt trust the state to either, we have to offer her a choice. The writter of this article is somewhat ill informed concerning the scope of the presidency yes appointing conservative judges is one way to influence this issue, but so is setting medicaid funding policy, so is setting allll sorts of funding mandates. Bush sure didnt need to appoint any judges to put us 50 years behind the rest of the world in stem cell research.

Prove me wrong but, in order to do that you'll have to think, research, risk, and learn. Are you brave enough? Are you smart enough? Or are you already one of them already? There will be a line drawn and sides will be taken for Freedom vs. Oppression ... which will you choose? Will you even know? Make a choice to wake up today. See the world through new eyes. One by one we can take back our country and our way of life. Leadership, awareness, action, dedication, and unity is the only way. Prove me wrong.

Ron Paul will not touch the abortion issue. He's primary focus is on Ending Iraq / Preventing Iran, Eliminating the FRB, Income Tax, and the IRS. After which would following returning the US to the Gold Standard and making American Currency worth something. That is a long, hard, dangerous task. Should he be able to defeat what is essentially Big Brother, or the Underment, in one term, as well as, end the war the follow up issue would be Restoration of Civil Liberties, the Environment, and Universal Health Care. Abortion and Gay Marriage are distraction hot topic. They are designed to keep Americans from focusing on the true evil in this country by stirring up their emotions and giving them a sense of urgency to address them. The 2004 election was a good example where the Gay Marriage issue swayed the vote. These are tactics and there is nothing respectable about this. The sad part is it showed exactly what America was made of. Selfish intolerance and the expense of freedom with disrega

Thank you for the comments. A big problem with those active in the political process is to solely support one set of beliefs and to be inflexible with the beliefs of others. I don't agree with everything Ron Paul says, but if acting like he is in 1776 means that he strictly adheres to the oath of office "upholding and defending the constitution of the United States". He is the man for me.

Good Article. I totally agree with you.
People's commitment to minor issues like Roe V. Wade and Gay Marriage could spoil this critical election.

Ron Paul is the only candidate with the integrity to fight all the ridiculousness in Washington.

America needs to realize that 10% of the country might be able to enjoy gay marriage, but 100% of America will be locked into an RFID police state.

Ron Paul is working to prevent this.
    That's why I support him.
He's got his priorities in order.

Ron Paul acts like it's still 1776. Nice article, but Adam Smith's theories don't work any more.

Republican President and Republican held Congress put in motion the things that have stripped the citizens of freedoms. "It would be easier if this were a dictatorship and I was the dictator" the "decider" said. As Ben Franklin said, "People who give up freedoms for security, deserve neither" and it was the Republican government that lead the people to give up their freedoms for supposed security. Because Ron Paul is a man, he could get raped, but he could never get pregnant and if so, he might be more willing to allow females liberty and give her more human rights than a cell in her body. When that Constitution was writen it did not apply to females and slaves who were considered property. Men have no business telling a female with cancer she is not allowed to choose between cancer treatment terminating her own pregnancy. They have no business condemning a woman to death by not allowing a doctor to surgically remove an embryo from a fallopian tube. A Pres' job, I read recently is to
