Ron Paul Will Go to Iowa After All

Candidate Plans a Rally for the Same Day as Forum that He Wasn't Invited To

According to the Ron Paul Website, Paul will be in Iowa on Saturday. Although Dr. Paul was not invited to (and will not attend) the Presidential Candidates Forum sponsored by the Iowans for Tax Relief and the Iowa Christian Alliance, Ron Paul will stage a rally in Des Moines, Iowa on the same day as the contentious forum.

The Ron Paul 2008 website states that "Ron Paul will celebrate life and liberty" at the rally, which ironically will be held in the same venue as the Presidential Candidates Forum. Dr. Paul's rally is set to begin at 4:30pm, directly following the forum. Ron Paul's website states that the rally is open to the public and "food and beverage will be provided to the first 500 people who arrive."

The Des Moines Presidential Candidates Forum has become a sticking point for Ron Paul supporters and Iowans for Tax Relief representative Ed Failor (Iowa Forum Snubs Ron Paul). Mr. Failor said in a June 20 radio interview with Des Moines talk show host Jan Mickelson that Ron Paul was not a "credible" presidential candidate and, as such, Mr. Failor and his group did not plan to invite Dr. Paul to the Presidential Candidates Forum.

During the discussion, which Ron Paul campaign manager Kent Snyder was also part of, Mr. Failor accused Ron Paul supporters of attempting to hack into the Iowans for Tax Relief website. Mr. Failor stated that "a bunch of people from out-of-state are calling my home at all hours" to protest the decision to not include Ron Paul in the forum and that his group was justified in not including Ron Paul in the forum "if that's the kind of people who support him."

The internet has been stirring with Ron Paul campaign buzz (Ron Paul Gains Popularity on the Internet). In turn, Ron Paul's popularity on the internet has increased the level of mainstream media coverage that the candidate has received in recent weeks (Ron Paul Makes Front Page News).

Many Ron Paul supporters were unhappy with the decision to exclude Dr. Paul from the forum, considering that most of the other presidential candidates were invited. Blogs and internet forums criticized the decision to keep Ron Paul from participating in the Des Moines Presidential Candidates Forum, with some pointing out Ed Failor's position as a senior advisor to John McCain's presidential campaign as a potential reason for Ron Paul not being invited to the forum (Link to McCain Iowa Committee Members).

You got it right on Nick.. he's working for McCain.

A senior adviser to McCain gets to tell the American public Ron Paul is not credible. Well he's not credible to him and McCain and the rest of the people on stage because he constantly wins the debates or comes close to in polls and speaks courageously and truthfully. Failor is made of fail and is a snidey calculative coward who would rather see the opposition ignored than confronted in fear of his golden interests being halted as Ron would clearly steal the show.

A local Iowa talk host, Jan Michaelson of WHO news talk radio has been handling the latest supporter focus in Des Moines Iowa. In one afternoon/evening....they documented over 17,000 server requests to download the broadcast coverage concerning Ron Paul.

www.ronpaulaudio has recorded over 60,000 server requests on it's website that's only been online for 1 MONTH! (I know....I'm the host!)

I for one am glad that he will be going to Iowa though I am deeply concerned that he was left off the list of invites as a non-credible candidate. I do believe however that the support he has received in light of this 'omission' has shown mainstream media that he is not a candidate to be ignored. He was cited as a clear winner in the last debate--perhaps that has more to do with him not being invited to the party than a lack of crediblity.

I do wish however that his (Ron Paul's) supporters would try to keep Ron Paul and his sense of integrity in mind rather than stooping to childish pranks.

    Great article and very informative!
