Ron Paul Wins the Poll that Counts

Ron Paul Wins The Poll That Counts

The mainstream media says, "Ron Paul gains huge Internet following. Will it translate to actual votes?" This just shows the inane stupidity of the mainstream media. That huge Internet following consist of people, real people from every walk of life that are dissatisfied with the current federal administration, from the President to the Congress. NEWSFLASH: These people are going to vote! As you read this, Ron Paul supporters are going door to door, raising and contributing money and yes, staying informed and organizing with the help of the Internet.

Supporters of Ron Paul in recent months have been accused of spamming the Internet. Ron Paul supporters have been accused of skewing the results of online polls resulting in Ron Paul winning nearly every online poll having to do with the 2008 Presidential Election. At first glance and without much thought it is easy to agree with the naysayers. Many Ron Paul supporters are young and many feel disenfranchised from the current political regimes in power, both Democrat and Republican. In their excitement, it is easy to see how they would try to influence or be accused of influencing the results of polls in their favor.

Most people are familiar with older, more established poll services like Rasmussen and Gallup and tend to respect their polling capabilities. Fox News, CNN, CBS, ABC and NBC also conduct polls and for the most part, are respected for their polling data. If you read a poll from one of the major establishments you get results like: 1000 people were called at random in New York City and the results can be wrong or right within a plus or minus of 3 percent.

Why Traditional Polls Are Irrelevant

So, you ask, just what is this poll that Ron Paul is winning that really matters? I can tell you what it is not. It is not Rasmussen, Gallup, Fox, CNN, CBS, ABC or NBC. The polls conducted by these companies are irrelevant. Blasphemy you say? Bull, I say! The "official" "respected" polls conducted by Rasmussen, Gallup and the rest of the major media are bogus because they do not conduct their polls by querying a large enough audience. You can not call 1000 registered voters in Iowa or New York or wherever and come up with a result that will tell you what the American people really want or think. In order to really get a good feeling for what the American people think, feel or believe the poll must be conducted over a wider audience than the traditional polling companies or the traditional media is capable of.

These traditional companies are now polling on the Internet. Yet when Ron Paul wins a poll, they dismiss the results and say that Ron Paul supporters are spamming. Another angle these traditional, respected companies use to deal with Ron Paul supporters, is to not include him in the poll at all. They believe that since Ron Paul's supporters are causing him to win, it must be spam and they skew the results of their own poll. A small group of powerful individuals in control of the major media have decided that Ron Paul should not win the election for President in 2008. This group of individuals think that since they have controlled the media for years, they can continue to influence the American people and how we vote in the upcoming election.

Major Media Is Irrelevant

Anyone reading this will now think that I have taken blasphemy to a new level. It is one thing to run around telling your fellow conservatives that CNN is run by liberals (but owned by conservatives), or Fox News is run by Conservatives (but run by Rupert Murdoch, who, although is widely considered conservative, makes money off of liberal shows like the Simpson's). It is quite another thing to write these media giants off as irrelevant.

In order to understand how irrelevant the major media giants are lets look at some hard facts. We already know that the major polling companies like Rasmussen and Gallup only actually poll a low number of people each time they conduct a poll. The New York Times is a major media newspaper that not only is considered a major player in the United States, but is considered a major player in the international market. The New York Times has an average of 9.5 million unique visitors to their web sit each month. They have an average circulation of 1.1 million for their newspaper. They are second only to USA Today (2.25 million daily circulation) in newspaper circulation. CNN and Fox News average around 1 million viewer each day. CNN gets 19 million views to their site each month. By contrast Michael Savage's radio talk show has an average of 12 million listeners each day. In the arena of media influence, even Michael Savage beats the crap out of the New York Times

So where do we go to get a large enough group of people that will give us a true indication of what people really want and think? YouTube! Or how about MeetUp.com

That's right folks, YouTube is the new arena we can use to determine just what Americans are really interested in and who in politics they are supporting. According to Quantcast, a major Internet rating company, YouTube gets an average of 50 million viewers each month. Fifty million views, from every walk of life, leaving a trail for us to look at what they are really interested in.

So in the realm of American politics, just what are YouTube users interested in? As of this writing 90,213 YouTube subscribers are interested in who becomes the next President of the United States. 90,213 people have subscribed to the YouTube channel Face The Candidate. Over ninety thousand people interested in and active in American Politics. That is a 90 times the size of your average "respected poll" conducted by our "reputable pollsters."

So is Ron Paul the number one candidate on YouTube? You bet your sweet ass he is! Sorry I couldn't resist. Ron Paul is number one, out of over 90,000 subscribers to You Choose '08, Ron Paul has 39,361. The next candidate in our popularity contest is Barack Obama with a mere 13,192 subscribers. Hillary Clinton is next with only 7,014 subscribers.

Why do think I put so much validity to these numbers? Very simple, these are people from all across the land, from every walk of life and background. Think about it, over ninety thousand people interested in politics versus 1000 people polled by Rasmussen pollsters calling registered voters in one area of the country. The numbers do not lie, Ron Paul is clearly the champion of the people. Is he still an underdog? You Bet!

Still not convinced? Go to meetup.com and check out the political candidates running for the Presidential election in 2008. Ron Paul is number one, with 1,340 meet up groups and over 76,567 members. Members that are meeting on a regular basis to campaign for Ron Paul. Who is number two on Meetup? Mike Huckabee, with a measly 218 groups. According to Quantcast, Meetup has an average of 1.4 million unique views each month.

The Ron Paul Revolution is truly a revolution. Going against all odds, against a media that will do anything to squash his campaign, Ron Paul is building a grass roots, off the radar, network, a network that has the people and finances capable of beating the "first tie" candidates. The fact that his numbers keep climbing on the Internet giving, him more supporters than the top tier candidates, prove that he is not only a viable candidate, but capable of winning the election for President of the United States.

In this article I have not gone into why the media and the pollsters are against Ron Paul, just why results they show are incorrect. Bookmark the Mike Warner Content Producer Profile, who knows what my next investigative report will show.
