Ron White, aka Tater Salad, Arrested

Comedian Ron White Arrested in Vero Beach, Florida

Blue Color comedian, Ron White, aka Tater Salad, was arrested Wednesday September, 10th in Florida. No, it was not for public intoxication as he often jokes about, but for possession of drug paraphernalia and an illegal drug. In Vero Beach, Florida, police officers waited as the 51-year-old comedian's plane landed to make the arrest. They had a tip from an anonymous source that said White had marijuana in one of his bags on the plane.

White was booked in Indian River County jail around 6 o'clock p.m. and posted a bail amount of $1000 then was released shortly after 8 o'clock p.m. Detectives say that he was cooperative and made the process run smoothly. The amount of marijuana in White's possession was quite small, 3 grams, and a smoking pipe was also found in his possession.

White was in Vero Beach to perform at his sold out concert, and though he did make it to the show Wednesday night he arrived one hour late. He will perform to another sold out concert at its original time in Vero Beach on Thursday night.

Many argue that 3 grams of marijuana was too small of an amount for an arrest and was a waste of police resources. Also, some say that had he not been a celebrity the tipster would probably not have called the police. White has not tried to fight the charges, even though there may question to the validity of the arrest.

Ron White often includes his stories about run-ins with the law to his comedy acts, and fans can expect this one to be an addition. He should probably thank the Vero Beach police department for providing him with some new material. During his shows he normally has a glass of scotch in one hand and a cigar in the other. Some routine jokes he uses in his act ironically are about police profiling and airport security.

Fans should not worry; Tater Salad's punishment was a mere slap on the hand and has given him some new material to share. There have been no reports of further investigation or punishment for him and the incident is said to be concluded. His tour schedule has not changed, and he plans to keep all original dates and times. Fans should be prepared to hear about White spending a few hours in jail and he will probably point out the humorous points during upcoming acts.

I HAVE to know where the "anonymous tip" came from... What a waste of everyone's time. Especially because the guy has a prescription for marijauna. (Which I wish the story would've told)
