Rooms Unlimited - Terrible Delivery Service

My mother in law and father in law decided to redo their living room after redoing their kitchen. They knew what they wanted. They wanted a sectional couch with recliners on both ends. The problem with sectionals is that they have to be just right in order to fit in the room correctly. They L shape has to go the way your living room will fit it. A sectional can't be broken up because then one half won't have an arm. I know this from personal experience. Anyway, it took my in-laws a very long time to find the right sectional. They went to practically every furniture store on Long Island. Nobody sold the sectional going in the direction they needed. Until of course they went to Rooms Unlimited on Route 112 in Medford. The salesman convinced them that he would be able to special order their couch in the correct L shape they needed. So they were excited and placed the order.

Well, there problem wasn't technically with the store in itself. Let me explain. After a couple of months of having only one chair to sit in while they were waiting for their new furniture, they finally got the call that the sectional was ready. What are the odds that on the same day they were to have this delivered, we would have what someone would call a Monsoon outside. With that being said, they received the delivery anyway. But not until my father in law had to call Rooms Unlimited to find out when they would be coming that day. The women that answered the phone couldn't be nastier. She finally gave him a window between two and five and hung up. Before she hung up she did say that it would be an independent trucking company making the delivery.

When the truck arrived it was still pouring outside. It is a good thing that my father in law had previously bought drop clothes so as not to ruin their brand new carpeting that they just had installed. When the delivery men brought the couch in thankfully it was still in the wrapping to protect it. But the wrapping couldn't protect the couch when one of the delivery men decided to drop the couch on the floor instead of placing it gently. Not nice. When the couch dropped, the walls got soaked from all of the rain that collected on the plastic covering. Not very professional.

When the delivery men left my mother in law noticed that the bottom of the couch was saturated. It is a good thing it didn't ruin her brand new couch. The other thing she noticed was not only did they leave the garbage from all of the packing, they left it in a mess. If they didn't want to take the garbage, they could have left it a little neater for them. Again, not nice, especially since I know my father in law still gave them a good tip.

After my mother in law saw this mess, she decided enough was enough. She called Rooms Unlimited and got the same nasty lady. She asked to speak to her salesman who ironically was busy. Who was buying furniture in a Monsoon anyway. Oh I forgot to mention that the recliners wouldn't close. You had to use all of your strength to close them. The lady told my mother in law that they just needed to be broken in. Um, no. So she finally agreed to have the technician come out and take a look at them. When my mother in law spoke to the guy, he was nice and said the recliners just needed to be adjusted. Finally someone who was willing to help after taking her money.

My mother in law asked me to write this review because she was so upset with this whole experience. She didn't know where to turn to express her feelings about this store. I told her it would be my pleasure to write this review. Stay away from Rooms Unlimited on Route 112 in Medford. This is an example of how they treat their customers. Again, not nice.

ROOMS UNLIMITED WILL ROB YOU AND MAKE YOUR LIFE A LIVING HELL!!!!!!!!!!!
Do not ever order from this company. Its been 11 months and after numerous phone calls and contacting the Better Business Bureau we have not received our furniture. Thank god the credit card company after much fighting credited us our $3100 down payment and Rooms Unlimited for the oddest reason were not happy about this. Fred from R.U. in Patchogue, NY has done nothing but lied to us telling us every month "The furniture will be there next month" and even after it was supposed to finally be delivered today they claim it will not be there by Monday. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!
