Rosa Cha: Mercedes Benz Spring 2010 Fashion Week Review

Review of Rosa Cha's Collection

Amir Slama is a Brazilian fashion designer who founded the Brazilian beachwear brand Rosa Cha. This summer, Amir was replaced by Alexandre Herchcovitch after a falling out with investors.

This year at the Mercedes Benz Spring 2010 Fashion Show, Herchcovitch brought beautiful new pieces of Rosa Cha swimwear to the runway. His collection featured themes of luscious oranges, ivories, and yellows, polka dot, and high waists.

The first suit on the catwalk was a white two-piece with small black polka dots. The bottoms were high waisted, and the bra top was strapless. The model had an orange scarved wrap in her hair, wore matching bangles, and black strappy swedges. That wasn't the only black polka dotted suit; there were one-pieces and cover ups with this theme too.

As just mentioned, Rosa Cha also had cover ups in the collection. There was a sheer white halter dress, sheer tube top, and a tee-shirt sleeved dress with black polka dots that was slightly gathered and hemmed at the bottom. Another unique outfit was loose, white and polka dot halter with a thick, wide stretch band across the waist, and baggy light blue bottoms that became skinny-legged closer to the feet. Along those lines, another model wore a Rosa Cha black and white vertical striped skirt which had the tall stretch waist band. The separate, strapless bikini top for this outfit was also black and white, but had stripes running in diagonals. That model was also wearing an ivory and polka dot hair wrap.

The models makeup was light, and their eye shadow lightly reflected the colors from the collection, such as yellows and oranges. Other accessories worn on the runway with these pieces: strappy swedges, scarf head bands in polka dots, yellows, and oranges, stacked bangles in those colors, and some models carried coin purses in black, oranges, yellows.

My favorite Rosa Cha swimwear piece from this Spring 2010 collection was a yellow one-piece with a red plaid / checkerboard design on it. The two straps were a yellow and a red that went from the center front of the swimsuit around the neck.

The flattering swimwear and cover ups from Rosa Cha's Mercedes Benz Fashion Week collection are suited for all skin types, as seen by the different skin toned models. The high waisted looks would be especially great for shorter, thin women who could benefit from the illusion of longer legs. It would also be great wear for women who want to shorten their torsos.

Rosa Cha swimwear and cover ups are priced from $80 to over $200.
