Rosie O'Donnell is lashing out at Kelly Ripa for a comment that she made last Friday while co-hosting with Clay Aiken according to TMZ.com.
There were several articles on the web yesterday suggesting the Ms. Ripa was none to happy with the way that Clay acted while co-hosting the show with her. The talk show host went off on Aiken last Friday morning on "Live With Regis and Kelly," saying "I don't think he was respectful in any way." She says Aiken was hostile toward her when they shared co-hosting duties on Friday's show. At one point during the show, to stop Kelly from talking Aiken reached over and placed his hand over her mouth, to which she responded "I don't know where that hand has been."
That comment prompted O'Donnell, while hosting the view, to say that she thought the Ripa's comment was homophobic. She further went on to say "that if that was a straight man, if that was a cute man, if that was a guy that she didn't question is sexuality, she would have said a different thing."
Outraged, Ripa called into the show immediately and stated that Rosie's accusation was "outrageous" and "irresponsible. She also said that her remarks had nothing to do with being homophobic or Aiken's sexual orientation, she said she made the remark last Friday because it was "cold and flu season" and that Aiken had shaken the hands of the studio audience.
Rosie apparently didn't buy that excuse, saying that although she admires Ripa, from "where she sits" her response to Aiken was homophobic.
I completely disagree with Rosie for several reasons. First off, he put his hand over her mouth which is no no. Kelly and Clay aren't best friends. Who wants anyone, whether they know them or not to just put their hand on their mouth. Second of all has Clay Aiken came out and said he was gay? Last time I checked he hadn't. So can you make a homophobic comment about a person who swears their straight? I don't think you can. This just seems like another attempt by Rosie O'Donnell to make issue where there is none.
Everyone knows your a lesbian Rosie and that's awesome, but you don't have to turn everything, everyone does into a gay issue. Somethings are just black and white and have nothing to do with sexual orientation and this in my opinion was one of those things.

Post a CommentRosie is jealous. She wishes she looked like Ripa.
Yep! When you only got one note to sing, all the songs sound the same. The next thing out of Rosie's mouth will be to describe heterosexual men as "lesbians trapped in a male bodies."
Didn't you all know Rosie was large and in charge? She's the most powerful woman in America...in her own mind. Her audience is captive and captivated by her and what she says no matter how much of it is her opinion and not fact. Entertain me and shut up. When I want to be educated I'll put on one of those channels.
Since Rosie joined the view it has basically become her talkshow, her style. I wouldn't want Clay Aiken or Rosie or (forgive me Lord) Elvis Presley putting his hand over my mouth. In fact unless I personally doused a celebrity with antibacterial soap I wouldn't want any of them touching me at any time in any way for any number of reasons. Rosie sees everything through lesbian colored glasses, how sad.
I totally agree with you Sindy - Rosie went overboard on this one.
