Rosie O'Donnell, TV Celeb, please begin your Therapy soon

A factual and whimsical look at how one TV celebrity typifies the emotional insertion of misinformation into our thoughts.

The rumor mill is buzzing about the all new Rosie O'Donnell cable and Sirius radio channel show, it will be called Always Angry at nearly Everybody All of the Time. This will allow Rosie and her angry fans to voice their anger about any comment made about lesbians, gays, those who are overweight, those who are obese, Republicans and legal private gun owners. That should be fun to listen too eh? Maybe they'll get about one-hundredth of the audience Air America did before it went belly up?
Now back to reality, there is no Always Angry show in the offing for Rosie O'Donnell, but the next best thing today is on ABC-TV, called The View. But what does this former comic from Commack, Long Island do to attract the shock and amazement of so many?
It would seem Rosie has a co-conspirator, ABC-TV, owned by Disney who apparently has given her the green light for her to say anything that pops into her head on The View. Keep in mind this show is predominately watched by women both at home and in the studio audience. While there are some exceptions most of their audience is more comfortable with family matters then catching up on the latest Foreign Intelligence /International Reports, military details etc.
The fact that Rosie's outrageous and often ill-informed comments worm their way into non-viewers heads through commentary by others may be looked at as a promotional tool by execs at ABC-TV/Disney. Guess they must think they are kind of slick, let Rosie make some outrageous comment like "radical Christians are as just as threatening as radical Islam", and watch the shock alarms go off in anybodies head that knows the difference.
Rosie's specializes in taking what normally might be liberal cocktail party conversation or a drunken sound bite and trying to float it past the rest of the country. As the world of celebritydom often resides in they're own private bubbles this elitist convenience often leads to them locking into opinions that would melt like jello in a hot sun if common sense and truth had anything to do with it? When was the last time you heard of a Christian strapping on a bomb and walking into an open air market to detonate? Rosie's objection to anyone on her front door step objecting to her lifestyle must carry more weight than the over 30 Islamic terrorist attacks killing and injuring thousands since 1982.
When 15 British sailors and Royal Marines were hijacked by the Revolutionary Guard of Iran in mid-March, Rosie donned her foreign affairs hat and stated, "But interesting with the British sailors, there were 15 British sailors and Marines who apparently went into Iranian waters and they were seized by the Iranians. And I have one thing to say: Gulf of Tonkin -- Google it. Okay? They went into the water by mistake right at a time when British and American, you know, they're two, they're pretty much our biggest ally and we're considering whether or not we should go into war with Iran."
Unfortunately, the actual televised conference of the recently released British revealed the admission that this kidnapping took place according to global positioning systems 1.7 nautical sea miles outside Iranian waters. Any confession was surprise...done under duress. The fact that Britain's Tony Blair engaged in what many feel is some kind of apology is another sad turn on this event. Iran should be apologizing to Britain and the rest of the world for such aggression; instead they've managed to turn the tables. This feat has been accomplished by other dictators in our history with disastrous long-term ramifications.
Rosie's source for the exact location of the kidnapped Brits was of course Iranian and other anti-American propaganda, which she apparently assigns more credibility than anything else. This is not to infer that our own US media does not dole out its own share of mis and disinformation, however in this case Rosie can't see past her own anti-war, anti-republican, anti-whatever agenda.
With Rosie this has become a clear pattern...the pattern, she opens mouth before engaging brain. A rather common offense in everyday life, but when you are a person on the public platform, particular ABC-TV, it is advisable to run anything destined for the airwaves through the brainwaves first. Need another bit of evidence?
Another Rosie quip about the United States our Constitution guaranteeing us the separation of Church and state. This is a popular misconception held by some who have chosen to not actually read the US Constitution, but do their best to sound knowledgeable to others who know no better. The problem is when you put it on nationwide TV, radio or print, those who have read or can pick up a copy of the US Constitution will be able to see Ms. O'Donnell only engages her mental capacities at about the same speed range as a centipede with many broken legs.
For the benefit of Ms. O'Donnell and anyone else you know who doesn't what our US Constitution actually guarantees, here it is from Article I of the Bill of Rights.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"
The only real guarantee is that we shall NOT have a state sponsored religion as they did in many other previous cultures. We the People shall also be allowed to exercise freely our method of worship without interference from the state. However, there is nothing about guaranteeing the state and religion to be separated in any way, only in the choice of practice, observance etc. It is a fact that this particular article was inserted because there were nine states who did actively promote a religious belief in the late 1700's.
Today this choice of religion still manifests in Congress. The Senate, House of Reps and other state legislative bodies usually start proceedings with a prayer from a local church official. You will also find in Washington D.C. and other states many references to the Biblical teachings as this countries foundation is not Islamic, Buddhist or Atheist, but at one time held reverence for Christian version of God which was much more closer to the center of life in the past. In fact in Washington D.C. you will also find various statues, momuments and even a park for the Lebanese Poet Kahlil Gibran, author of The Prophet, who was a favorite bed time reading book for Storming Norman Schwarzkopf during his generalship in the first Persian War.
As a Vietnam Naval veteran when Rosie drew a parallel to the 1967 Gulf of Tonkin incident off the coast of Vietnam I knew she was once again off base. She obviously feels these sailors were being sacrificed in hopes of triggering a larger conflict between the UK, US and Iran. Once again Rosie leaps to sew together two distinctly different incidents without knowing fully what happened in one, if not both of them.
Unfortunately, Rosie does have some grounds to say the Gulf of Tonkin was used to expand the bombing and hence the war in Vietnam. That is entirely new column, which you can find ample commentary on, by yes, googling it. However, this is 2007, not 1967 and the stakes are a lot higher. To get more Gulf of Tonkin info:
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2005/110105F.shtml
The facts are now in the hijacking of these Brits was not an attempt to trigger any larger conflict; it only highlighted Iranian aggressiveness and their ability to manipulate favorable propaganda for their agenda. The only real parallel between the Gulf of Tonkin incident and the Brits being hijacked is that they were both used for propaganda purposes to promote an objective.
When it comes to the Middle East it clearly has its share of both intended and accidental military action in the past, present and the future.
Who speaks today for the 34 American sailors were killed and 171 were wounded by the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty in 1967? We didn't go to war with Israel, but it did take until January 2004 for the US State Department to conclude Israel was fully guilty of the attack and it was "an act of gross negligence for which it should be held responsible." [The State Department's admission was in large part due to the efforts of author James Bamford (not Rosie O'Donnell) author of USS Liberty-A Cover-Up, in which he carefully documents the betrayal of US sailors to appease Israel during their Six-day war in 1967. Israel apparently did not want anyone listening too closely to war activities. Bamford is also well noted for being the only author to actually write about the most secretive and largest intelligence agency in the U.S., the NSA, and National Security Agency. Check out his books on the subject, The Puzzle Palace and Body of Secrets]. Also, check out this website:
www.fas.org/sgp/eprint/bamford.html
In July 1988 a guided missile cruiser, the USS Vincennes shot down an Iranian airbus, killing all 290 occupants including 66 children. In 2004, the Iranians seized eight British sailors, later releasing them all after negotiations and running them through the propaganda mill.
So what's new here, Rosie keeps her narrow focus on reactionary verbal flatulence, which has a distinct anti-American scent.
Rosie is not alone in her anti-American rhetoric, only unapologetic. Even the Dixie Chicks eventually owned up to the fact they really did not know what they were talking about and would have to study the subject more. Sure, this apology could have been triggered by sagging music sales and a wide spread anti-Dixie Chick whiplash by their core country audience, but they did apologize. After all, country folk generally don't take kindly to trashing the country, especially after 9-11.
When it comes to 9-11 Rosie has opened up another can of confusion, basically claiming the planes ramming into the World Trade Towers should not have brought them down. In other words it was an inside job. One can make a few weak points about the way the WTC were built, the steel melting and remote control aircraft but Rosie would be much better off consulting a serious conspiracy theorist first. Even most decent conspiracy theorists have shyed away from the 9-11 stuff, there are exceptions of course. In the event you want a sample of the deconstruction of some of the conspiracy myths check out: http://www.debunking911.com/
While she has not gone as far as Bill Mahr and called the terrorists slamming into the buildings warriors not cowards, Rosie's insistence that the WTC tower going down was an inside job created yet another tidal wave of anti-Rosie sentiment and an article in Popular Science to debunk the whole issue.
What is the logic behind this unbridled lust for controversy with ABC-TV. Is ABC-TV trying to promote anything that is anti-administration? Just trying to give the few hard working conspiracy theorists out there a bad name. Note: hard working conspiracy theorists rarely get an opportunity to explain any of their theories before being shouted down in the mainstream, they are largely published on the fringes in smaller numbers and debunked with out offering any adequate debate. Are they doing it for the money? Considering what they make in opposition to what those trying to cover up stand to profit, its easy to see the money trail.
In spite of it all of the official debunking, according to a 2006 Scripps polls 40% of 1,010 people in Ohio believed the Federal Government was either likely or somewhat likely involved in the assassination of JFK in 1963. This same poll stated that 38% of the people either feel it is likely or somewhat likely that the Federal Government is covering up information about the real existence of intelligent life from other planets.
Clearly, people are receptive to alternative information, but the way Rosie performs her version resounds more like getting into a political discussion with the loudest drunk in a bar than a carefully articulated and informed position.
At this point in her career, ABC-TV seems to tolerate these eruptions of mental corruption. In the future, if ratings of The View continue to dip, she could be looking for new opportunities. No doubt Hollywierd loves Rosie and they will always have something for her. Hey how about a new cable TV and radio show called All Angry at nearly Everybody All the Time?

She is pathetic, and the rage is almost tangible. I do agree with some of the stuff she says, but not to the extreme that she goes too. The one thing that I have to say is that there are radical Christians there who maybe don't take bombs and strap them to themselves, but will blow up abortion clinics. I am against abortion, but when someone calls themselves a christian and then blows up a clinic it just proves that they are nuts. I can understand the rage and the desire to stop it, but that is way over the line. Or Christians that dont get help for their kids that are dying because they believe God will heal them if it is their will, We had some radicals here called the Glory Barners, they were really really nuts.

I just watched a documentary on google video called TerrorStorm. Has anyone seen it? What do you think? Also, on May the 24th on The View, the creators of the documentary "Loose Change", which is also available for free on google video, will be on. According to a release from ABC, Korey Rowe and Dylan Avery, creators of the 9/11 conspiracy documentary Loose Change will appear on the May 24th show.

Also listed is William Rodriguez, who was a janitor at the North Tower of the World Trade Center, who has since become part of the 9/11 truth movement.

I don't know what to think about Rosie, but under natural rights and the 1st amendment, she has the right to question the official government theory on 9/11.

I feel sorry for Rosie. What makes a person hate that much?

I think they should drop her on Iraq. Oh! Sorry! That's right, we said we wouldn't use WMD against them. Great article

Thanks so much for the comments. I also emailed ABC in the spirit of civic responsibility. Rosie just keeps stepping over the line. Personally, I'm worried the people like here will someday give imeptus to more restrictions on free speech.

Rosie seems to be taking out her bitterness about life on everyone around her, including the others on the panel. I stopped watching The View during the Rosie/Trump wars. They both showed what idiots they are. I'm disappointed in Baba Wawa for keeping her on the show.

I couldn't agree with you more. Perhaps we should start collecting funds to ship her off to China or some other country of her liking. Excellent article.

She is a truly "Useful Idiot" who, by being so hideous in her entire presentation, maybe won't eventually even BE so useful to her handlers...

    Right on Alex!

I was beginning to think that I was the only one who found her unbearable and annoying. Great article!
