Rosie O'Donnell vs. Donald Trump: The Battle Begins

Daniel Rein
Donald Trump has recently been in the news because he is the owner and chairman of the Miss USA pageant and Miss Universe contest. The current Miss USA Tara Conner from Kentucky was under investigation by Donald Trump because she was found partying and drinking underage in New York City. Donald Trump had to decide whether Tara Conner would remain as Miss USA or would be given another chance. Donald Trump did eventually decide to let her off with a warning and gave her a second chance provided that she goes to rehab for alcoholic drinking.

Meanwhile, Rosie O'Donnell blasted Donald Trump for giving Miss USA Tara Conner a second chance and stated that Donald Trump was a cold hearted and passionless person and used the examples of his two marriages. Rosie O'Donnell stated that Donald Trump had two marriages that ended in divorce and an affair and had two kids with each woman. Rose pointed out, "Where was Donald Trump's compassion there?" in reference to his ex-wives and past divorces. This infuriated Donald Trump who slammed Rosie as being fat and having no business to comment on the matter. Rosie O'Donnell had said her comments during her television show called "The View" and Trump thought that this was no place for her to comment on. Rosie O'Donnell had said that Trump had no moral compass to judge matters such as these.

Donald Trump's response to Rosie O'Donnell's comments was swift and vicious as it deserved to be. Trump appeared on a Los Angeles talk television show called "Good Day L.A." and taunted Rosie O'Donnell as being a "fat slob" and "unattractive" and claimed that Rosie O'Donnell just wanted the crown for herself and references her lesbian lifestyle. Other Trump comments stated that O'Donnell was a "loser" and a "failure." Rosie O'Donnell fired back at Donald Trump and pointed the finger at his past transactions that have included possible bankruptcies such as with the Taj Casino that Trump sold because it lost a lot of money.

Trump is currently suing Rosie O'Donnell for libel and it looks like Donald Trump is enjoying the spotlight once again. In fact, the only reason that Donald Trump is suing Rosie O'Donnell is to get revenge and because he stated that it would be "fun" to sue her in court.

This bitter feud looks like it will only worsen and will be the front pages of newspapers and gossip magazines everywhere. It is an interesting comparison of two billionaires squaring off and insulting each other like little children but it is entertaining nevertheless.

Rumors have also been circulating that this could very well be a publicity stunt on behalf of both people. Rosie O'Donnell has been in need of a ratings boost and increase in viewers for her talk show. Donald Trump is also coming out with a new season of "The Apprentice" from the city of Los Angeles instead of New York City. Donald Trump hopes that a change of venue will increase viewers who watch his show as well.

On the other hand, Donald Trump has proved time and again that he will not back down to a challenge or a fight. His motto that he lives by is that if a person attacks him, Trump attacks the person back; only much harder. This was evidenced by the Rosie O'Donnell fiasco. In addition, when Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban openly attacked Donald Trump's business decisions, Trump fired back calling Cuban a "loser" and a poor businessman. Trump has proved once again after this Rosie O'Donnel fiasco that if you attack the Donald, be prepared for a fight because he does not back down and is relentless in everything he does.
